Gilbert Arenas is one of the best players in the NBA. The explosiveness he had on the court was unrivaled. If not for the injuries and several off-court problems, the three-time NBA All-Star may have excelled in his game. Recently, in a conversation, Arenas is seen talking about his rookie year injury that benched him for 27 games. And Arenas’ bitterness for the former Puerto Rican basketball player was quite evident in his words.

Arenas was named as the NBA’s Most-Improved Player and got the first of three straight All-Stars selections in his fourth season. In a recent conversation, he reveals that he hated the former basketball player, Arroyo, for breaking his ankle.

The Puerto Rican National team’s 2004 triumph over the United States is primarily remembered as Carlos Arroyo’s greatest accomplishment as an NBA veteran. He also joined the Big 3 in 2019 for the group’s third season. In the third round of the 2019 draft, he was taken seventh and was the 27th pick overall.

While as a member of the Toronto Raptors, his encounter with Arenas didn’t go well.

 

In a conversation, Arenas recalls his first encounter with the Puerto Rican player that led got him benched for 27 games due to his ankle injury. During the match, Arroyo broke his ankle while in a slight tussle with Arenas. Recalling the incident, he said, “I still don’t know. I don’t wanna watch the film.”

He added, “I was on IR for like 27 games, bruh I was miserable.  I didn’t want to wake up. I’m not going to know who he is he comes off the bench doing this to me I don’t belong in his league, man. I hated that man for a while because of that.”
