With only a handful of days left before the gala day, a 4-time NBA champion shared his emotions. He also spoke about the responsibility he had as the first French player to get inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Tony Parker has previously mentioned how much he admires and appreciates the Chicago Bulls legend. He holds the 6-time NBA champion in high regard. As Parker?s passion for the sport drove him into the NBA, he has worked hard to keep up with the expectations.?

In a conversation with Men?s Journal, he recalled his sweet burden and revealed, ?I was a huge Michael Jordan fan, wearing his jersey, so when I first arrived in San Antonio and started having success – you’d see every kid in France wearing the Number 9 Spurs, it meant in my heart I couldn’t disappoint them. I had a responsibility. So, to become the first French guy in the Hall Of Fame, it’s hard to imagine but it’s something now I can share with my kids.”

The No. 9 is significant for the player. It symbolized a lot of things for the player.?

‘His Airness’ was a true inspiration for the young French player. Jordan’s skills and brilliance in the game ignited the spirit of the player.

As a ten-year-old boy, he was fascinated to watch some of the greatest basketball players compete against each other in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. That was the first time he witnessed Jordan’s game live.
