Shaq and Fournette at LSU—Does this duo represent the ultimate Tiger pride?

It’s that time of the year Shaquille O’Neal heads to his old stomping grounds. And he finds a way to make it bigger and better every time. Usually, it’s his son, Myles, who accompanies him to the LSU homecoming events for their annual spectacle at Fred’s Bar. This time he’s brought along Adam Lefkoe, the co-host of The Big Podcast. In the lead-up to his arrival at Baton Rouge, the podcasting duo hinted at something huge. Now they unveiled the big surprise.

The Big Podcast featured Mark Cuban this week but almost immediately they teased they’re going to do a live show at LSU on Friday, October 11. They teased a “Surprise Special Guest” and invited fans to the free admission event on the LSU campus. After much speculation over who the guest is, Shaq confirmed it’s Leonard Fournette.

Since the show was at Louisiana State University when Shaq was set to headline the homecoming parade — the 100-year tradition — fans were sure the surprise guest would be a fellow LSU great. (Some thought it would be the Lady Tigers coach, Kim Mulkey.) Fournette was not on anyone’s list, but it wasn’t a disappointment either.

Shaq finally confirmed it on Instagram writing, “Just two 🐐 talking ball” in front of the PMAC. And they are two of the greatest athletes to ever walk LSU’s halls. Fournette played for the Tigers football from 2014 to 2016, two decades since O’Neal left the school.

Fournette’s collegiate career lived up to its hype before heading into the 2017 NFL draft. He’d win a Super Bowl ring with the Buccaneers in 2020, but last played with the Bills in 2023. He’s currently a free agent with a lot of rumors about where his pro career is heading. Perhaps Shaq prodded him about it too. We’d know when this episode with Leonard Fournette drops on The Big Podcast Network. Until then, Shaq and Leonard have a to-do list at their school.

LSU alums take over Tigers turf

LSU drew its famous alum to make its homecoming parade larger than life. DJ Diesel brought his partner from the O’Neal Boyz, Myles O’Neal to first headline the performance on UREC Field Complex on Gourrier Ave. They’d head back to Fred’s Bar right after for their annual performance on Friday night.

Before that, O’Neal and Fournette hung out with the LSU crowd at the podcast. Several fans shared their interactions with the greats on social media, including when Shaq sharpened his dance moves, learning to trip out on stage from a kid.

Earlier that day, several locals spotted Shaq running errands in pyjamas. To say they loved it is an understatement.

As of this writing, Shaq is dissing Ole Miss during his live DJ set. And there’s more to come.
