When it comes to all-time scoring, few could top MJ. In fact, only one man in NBA history has achieved more 40-point games than Mike; the legendary Wilt?the Stilt?Chamberlain. Jordan had 173 40-point outings during his career while Chamberlain tallied a ridiculous 271! Stephen Curry is further down the list with 71. But there is one caveat to his dominance.
Steph’s performance against Sacramento marked his 33rd instance of scoring 40 or more points since turning 30. This has brought him tantalizingly close to Jordan’s record 44 40-point games after turning 30.
So, the big question on every fan’s mind is how many more games does Curry need to snatch the top spot? Well, of course, 11 40-point outings would get him there. But, based on his record thus far, how long would it take Steph to amass 11 more 40-point games?

Calculating from his current scoring rate of the 9x NBA All-Star player which is 6.15 games per 40-point performance, Curry will have to tally 12 more 40-point performances to overtake MJ. To eclipse Jordan’s record, he’ll have to maintain this impressive pace over the course of the next 73 games.
