Before Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade, Magic Johnson was the first NBA athlete to show interest in the WNBA. As Wade previously acknowledged and appreciated the WNBA’s growing allure, Johnson had accurately anticipated it earlier. An investment group including Johnson, and the controlling owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers Mark R. Walter, acquired the WNBA franchise, Los Angeles Sparks in 2014. Following this, Johnson stated in a conference, “Thanks to my sister, Evelyn, playing college basketball, I have a great appreciation of the talented players that represent the WNBA. Our group will now work together to bring our loyal fans to another WNBA championship. “ He has been doing this since that day.

He is also associated with the Los Angeles Dodgers.    From attending the practices to the games, he has been actively supporting the players. As promised by the Lakers legend, they were indeed able to bring in a change for the team and its fans. The Sparks won the WNBA championship in 2016. Magic Johnson praised the Nebraska Volleyball team for legendary triumph

Recently, this September, the University of Nebraska women’s volleyball team made a historic achievement of 306 consecutive sellouts. Johnson tweeted a congratulatory post for the Nebraska women’s team to show his support. 

A few months ago, he also tweeted another message to American sprinters Gabby Thomas and Sha’Carri Richardson who won second and third-place finishes, respectively. Taking to his X account, he wrote, “Congratulations to American sprinters Gabby Thomas and Sha’Carri Richardson for placing second and third in the womens 200M finals!! @ItsGabrielleT @itskerrii”
