Shaquille O’Neal never holds back. Being true and openly expressing himself has made fans love the Los Angeles Lakers icon. So it came as no surprise when Shaquille O’Neal decided to promote a streetwear apparel brand that has the same mottos as the 4x champion.
Lindsay Barnette did not fit in with anyone. Wanting to express herself through fashion, she founded Kultured Misfits in 2015. But it was the Shaquille O’Neal that helped the brand reach wider audiences.

In 2022, Shaquille O’Neal released his show ‘The Game Plan With Shaquille O’Neal‘, which focused on Shaq helping and giving real-life business advice to Atlanta-based entrepreneurs to take their brands to the next level.
This was just the opportunity that Lindsay Barnette needed, as her brand was based in Atlanta. In an episode of The Game Plan, both Shaquille O’Neal and the rapper Quavo went over to Barnette and allowed her to display her brand nationwide. Both Quavo and Shaq worked with the brand and released their collection of clothing with Kultured Misfits as a collaboration.
Since then, Shaq has kept working with them to promote them even further by bringing Lindsay Barnette on his podcast. During the show, Shaq said, “I liked that she had her messaging on point, she had her marketing on point, and it was different.” Shaq resonated with what Barnette was trying to accomplish with her brand.
