In the world of basketball legends, Dwyane Wade remains one of the most humble. Recently, he joined “Basketball Heaven,” becoming part of the prestigious Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame.

But what made his induction into the Hall of Fame remarkable was the strange and moving moment shared by three generations of Wades.

As he stood on the stage of the Hall of Fame, we expected to see people like Pat Riley, LeBron James or Shaquille O’Neal present him. Instead, Wade picked Philadelphia 76ers legend Allen Iverson, drawing attention to the inspiration of The Answer. Despite standing alongside his childhood icon during his big day, the?Flash?recalled a different moment that made his night.

A day or two after the ceremony, Wade joined the 2023 Hall of Fame class on the SKWEEK show. San Antonio Spurs legend Tony Parker asked how it felt during the ceremony “wearing that beautiful orange jacket.”

Wade began, “Like, you watch Hall of Famers put on their jackets. And that’s their big moment.” But for Dwyane, it was special for a whole different reason.

That jacket got put on by my father and my son, the three generations of wades,”?elaborated the Miami Heat legend. The moment was more significant for D-Wade because it involved his family.

Over the years of seeing Hall of Famers receive their jackets, he realized that this was the peak, and having his father and son put the jacket on him signified three generations of Wades united in basketball greatness.

Dwyane Wade did not take his Hall of Fame enshrinement lightly. He described the feeling as “going to basketball heaven” in the build-up to the ceremony. His near 30-minute long speech also showcased his enthusiasm.

Not only has Dwyane Wade Sr. been a pillar of support for the NBA legend, he was also the focal point of D-Wade’s heartwarming enshrinement speech. He thanked his father for pushing and building the three-time champion into the man he is today.

As the Miami icon attempts to do the same for his 21-year-old son Zaire, he will surely continue looking to Sr. for inspiraiton.
