NBA on TNT is an emotion for fans. It has been so for years. From Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley’s hilarious banter to the various challenges put forth by Kenny Smith, the legendary show has given us so many memories. However, it wouldn’t be what it is without the host, Ernie Johnson. We know it, and Shaq knows it too. When the famed American comedian and actor George Wallace declared it on the Big Podcast with Shaq, the larger-than-life man couldn’t help but agree.

Just like us, O’Neal’s famous guest Wallace also seemed to be disappointed about the possible end of Inside the NBA during the podcast. Wallace claimed that TNT Sports wouldn’t have been so successful without the Inside Guys. “I don’t think TNT would be in business without you guys,” Wallace declared on The Big Podcast. Shaq replied, “I agree.”

While it is true considering the show’s success over the past decade, it might also be a sign of things to come. With TNT now locked in a legal battle with the NBA after losing out on the broadcasting rights, fans and analysts both have wondered how the network will move forward without its most successful team.

Wallace also praised the Inside Guys’ work for the network, admitting how the show made him laugh for many years. Leave it to Shaquille O’Neal to make one of the most successful comedians laugh. He is just too good at it.

At TNT, he is paired with his best partner, the Phoenix Suns legend, Charles Barkley. O’Neal’s co-host on the podcast, Adam Lefkoe, who sometimes has to fill in for Johnson on Inside the NBA, recalled how he gets mad at the company when they ask to cut Shaq and Barkley’s banter short.

Understandably, watching the antics live is way more entertaining than watching it on TV. Wallace also made a prediction, which if it works out, can bring fans’ sleep and peace back.

George Wallace’s Prophecy for Inside the NBA

Wallace believes that the candidness and unscripted antics of the Inside the NBA hosts make them different from their competitors, and the squad won’t be disbanded. He believes that even if it moves to a different network, the crew will continue to work together.

Man, these guys (Shaq and his TNT crew) are gonna be working forever. They won’t be at TNT but they gonna be somewhere. They gonna be at ESPN or somewhere, they gonna be working,” Wallace said on the podcast.

The NBA legends are making every effort to save Inside the NBA. Retirement from broadcasting remains the Philadelphia 76ers legend, Charles Barkley’s top choice. However, there might be a change in his mind. In a recent conversation with The Athletic, Barkley said he would consider offers from Amazon Prime Video, ESPN, and NBC if TNT Sports doesn’t guarantee his current deal.

The media veteran explained that his current deal is worth $210 million over 10 years, and he is currently in his third year. He stated that he would like to keep the Inside crew together and has been in contact with the other companies, which is actually a welcome change. There’s a hope after all that Wallace’s prediction might come true.
