Is Charles Barkley right about today's NBA being soft, or is he just out of touch?

Charles Barkley has multiple times explained how he is no longer on talking terms with his ‘best friend’ Michael Jordan. But there is another person who has, as some would say, even more disdain in his heart for Barkley. Charles Oakley had earlier spoken about an incident where he manhandled Chuck. But now in another interview, he has warned ‘the round mound of rebound’ once again.

Recently, Oakley discussed his longstanding beef with NBA Hall of Famer and TNT analyst, Charles Barkley. When asked if 11x All-Star retirement was a ruse, Oakley said in an interview with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, Who give a fu** about Charles Barkley?” Further he said, “He (Barkley) need to go to the gym and worry about his health. But his mouth going to get him in trouble, but I mean he’s you know he’s a clown Point Blank.”

And if you thought that was expletive, wait. There is even more. The hatred did not stop there as Oakley said, “He (Barkley) looked for attention, the stuff he said now he would never say it back in the day about no player. Cause somebody would hit him in his fu****g fat mouth.

As an analyst, Barkley has always been blunt with his opinion. And 2 months ago on The Inside Show, he once again reiterated his point. “Part of our job, we watch all the games, we watch all the talk shows. You know, all these people on television, they are cowards. They want the players to like them. They don’t want to do their job, which is telling the truth.” But the rant did not stop.

“For all you punks, idiots, and Jacka **** on other networks, who want to be media and who want all the players to like y’all, do your damn job. The Lakers suck and the Suns suck because of the players.” Pointing out criticism that is blunt because he is doing his job, unlike other analysts. Just like Barkley continues to take digs, Oakley has adopted similar fashion for Barkley.

Oakley on Charles Barkley

‘The Last Enforcer: Outrageous Stories From the Life and Times of One of the NBA’s Fiercest Competitors’ was released 2 years ago. In his memoir, Oakley also had a forward from Charles Barkley’s ‘best friend’. Michael Jordan wrote that if he should find himself in a tough situation, there is no doubt he would want Oakley by my side as his enforcer.

Is Charles Barkley right about today's NBA being soft, or is he just out of touch?

Have an interesting take?

In the book, Oakley explains about Chuck being not friends with MJ. ” He’s not close with Michael no more. I don’t know who he’s really on terms with now. So, I know he wants to come to the cookout and play 18 holes with us. But we’re not inviting him no more. He’s out.”

Also in the book he clarified the rumor of him punching Charles Barkley. “I did not punch Charles Barkley. I did, however, slap the s**t out of him.” It was before an important NBA player association meeting in 1999. That time too he had a problem with Chuck talking too much. And it feels like the rivalry is never-ending.
