Gabrielle Union got hitched to the Miami Heat legend in 2014. The duo welcomed their daughter Kaavia James Union Wade in 2018. Union and Wade are one of the most famous duos in the world, mainly due to their massive success in their respective fields. Gabrielle Union opens up about parenting

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union sat down with a parenting magazine to have a conversation about their life and family. The duo opened up on how they conduct things in their household. They also opened up about how they go about raising their daughter.

In an interview given to Parents magazine Union was asked how her childhood has affected her parenting style. She replied, “Being the person that stands up to the bully. It was terrifying, but I never had a problem doing it. That is what we have poured into our children. We don’t stand for folks who choose to be disrespectful or bigots. And if you insist on it, we will insist on correcting you.” 

Union has previously opened up about the time when she was physically assaulted when she was 19 years old. She explained how she overcame that trauma.

Gabrielle Union sheds light on the process of healing

Gabrielle Union in an interview opened up about when she healed from some massive physical trauma that she went through. She said, “It took me a long time to understand that my ability to take the hard blows of life didn’t make me “better”… it made me a participant in my own pain.”

The 50-year-old movie star made it clear that healing from her trauma was a tedious and tiring journey. It took her a decent amount of time to understand that taking some heavy blows in life clearly does not make anyone better.
