O’Neal revealed his favorite vacation spot in a recent interview with GQ. The NBA legend’s answer wasn’t surprising. He has after all preached about how the place cured him of stress.

While getting the lowdown on Shaquille O’Neal’s globetrotting adventures, you can’t skip his favorite vacation spot. GQ asked him what is the place he loves to visit to relax. His answer was immediate.

“I like the Bahamas. I actually have a house there. The blue water calms me,” he told the mag. It’s not a farfetched analysis either. At an average distance of 1362 miles from the US mainland, the Bahamas have been a global tourist attraction for its natural relaxing sights.

According to 2022 reports, 7 million tourists visit the Bahamas and the numbers keep growing every year. Shaq’s been spotted in the Bahamas in vacation mode too.

Internet sleuths couldn’t cover the exact location of his vacation home among his property portfolio but he’s often exploring local towns.

The 4x NBA champion also has a luxurious yacht that he boards to the Bahamas often. Local news outlets there would spot Shaq bicycling around town when he’s in town. He’d sometimes even reveal throwbacks from family vacations there when his six kids were tinier.

Shaq has never missed the chance to boost the tourism here. Like millions who visit the Caribbean country, he’s discovered nothing cures his stress better than the island ambience.

The Bahamas have not only given the Los Angeles Lakers legend a break from his hectic global schedules, but have also helped him sleep better.

Shaq’s expensive stress-relief cure

O’Neal was praising the island nation in 2022 too during his podcast. He revealed he suffers from stress and sleep apnea but the Bahamas cure his frayed nerves.

“There’s a spot in Bahamas where I walk out this hotel and you see a clear beach and clear water. That’s like the entrance way to stress relief. It’s like a portal to a different world.”

The Los Angeles Lakers champion said. “Once I see that it’s like a door opens, it all goes away.”
