The spotlight was yet again on one of basketball’s legends Pau Gasol. It happened in the dazzling ceremony held in Seville, Spain, when he became a member of the Spanish Basketball Hall of Fame and the end of his impressive career that combined international and professional basketball. The third version of the Hall of Fame ceremony also took place, which saw sixteen new inductees including Pau Gasol, who played under various teams? colors; those of the Spain National Team, the Barcelona Team, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

It was indeed a big day because Gasol played in front of 300 people at the La Cartuja stadium in Seville. While receiving this distinction, Gasol could not help but remember the important episodes that led him there.

Pau Gasol?s induction into the Spanish Basketball Hall of Fame was evidence he was not just a player, he was a global ambassador in basketball. This honor was accorded less than three months after he was enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame cementing his position among the greatest ever.

On the night he was inducted into the Spanish Hall of Fame, Pau Gasol spoke with deep feeling, saying, ?There are so many bright moments.? Gasol described it as an achievement beyond his personal enjoyment because it is also celebrating the collective success of Spanish basketball and its fans.
