The Sacramento Kings had a great season last year. Their 16-year-long playoff drought was finally ended. However, the Kings did not just make the playoffs, they were one of the best regular-season teams in the league. They finished the season as the third seed in the Western Conference and put up a battle against the reigning champions Golden State Warriors. Interestingly, Charles Barkley predicted the Kings to eliminate the Dubs. A few months after his prediction went south, Barkley has now given his thoughts about the future of the franchise.
The Kings went toe to toe with the time-tested Warriors in round 1 of the playoffs. The young team shocked everyone when they won both games to start the series. However, the experience of the Dubs came to the fore as they won the next three games and sealed the series with a massive 120-100 win in game-7 at Sacramento.

Charles Barkley has been a huge golf enthusiast for years. The Hall of Famer’s love for the sport started during his early years in the league as his friendship with NBA legend Michael Jordan blossomed. The two spent a lot of their spare time on the golf course and have taken part in multiple celebrity tournaments over the years. Even though MJ and Barkley are not on speaking terms anymore, their love for golf still remains.
Recently, Barkley took part in the star-studded American Century Golf Classic in Tahoe on Friday, with other stars like Andre Iguodala, Stephen Curry, The Miz, and so forth. During the tournament, Chuck gave a shout-out to the fans of Sacramento during an interview with KCRA3. But it was not without a taunt.
When the interviewer informed that fans from Sacramento are watching it live Charles Barkley joked, “Y?all got cable in Sacramento?”?in true Chuck fashion. He then had huge praise for the Kings.
He added, “First of all, shout-out to the Kings. You guys were flat-out awesome this year. Mike Brown coach of the year. De’Aaron was awesome. Sabonis was awesome. Murray is going to be a stud. They got something great. The NBAs better when Sacramento does well.”
Looks like the 1993 NBA MVP is once again ready to bet on the Kings despite last season’s disappointment.

However, The Round Mound of Rebound thought otherwise. And that did not end well. Furthermore, the 11x NBA All-Star also claimed the Kings will defeat the Los Angeles Lakers in the Conference Semi-Finals.
Despite the team’s struggles, Barkley is still showing belief in the side. It will be interesting to see how they perform in the upcoming season. One can only hope their play is better than Chuck’s predictions.
