The Indiana Pacers are having a hard time stifling their conference semi-final opponents, the New York Knicks. The Knicks are leading the series with a 2-1 tally and the Pacers need to find another win in the next two games if they want to stay alive in the competition. Amid such tough times, Stephen Curry’s ex-coach had genuine advice for Tyrese Haliburton.

Haliburton is a point guard who plays for the Indiana Pacers and is one of their mainstay players. Stephen Curry’s mentor’s advice gave Indiana fans hope for their team picking up in the next few games.

“I was impressed with Tyrese Haliburton and how he responded. You know after disappointing game 2 took his foot off the gas pedal was a little tentative… was a little passive. Came out, was aggressive. Scored 35 points and I’d still I still believe he has another level to get to as far as- I want him to go overboard with his aggressiveness, turning the corner, and those pick and rolls. He can get downhill Mitchell Robinson is not in uniform, he’s not going to be in uniform. So is the real only rim protector and Haliburton with that size and strength has the ability to get downhill and attack. He did a great job and I’d like to see that for 48 minutes,” Jackson said.

Notably, Haliburton could only score 6 points during the Indiana Pacers game 1 against the New York Knicks that resulted in a 121-117 loss. Next the 6 feet 5 inches athlete smoked 34 points against the Pacers but unfortunately that too resulted in a 130-121 loss. But Haliburton was not the one to lose hope. He took full advantage of his size and strength and decimated 35 points against the Pacers in game 3 that led to their 111-106 win. And hopefully, with Jackson’s advice, he will continue to dominate the game.

And as for Jackson, he is the NBA icon Stephen Curry’s ex-mentor. Jackson was employed with the Golden State Warriors from 2011 to 2014 as their head coach. He was the one to identify Curry’s talent and helped him elevate his game. And Curry returned it to Jackson during his tough times. Hence, there is no denying that Jackson’s advice for Haliburton might be the exact thing that can get Indiana to win the series. Moreover, the Knicks are in for trouble.

The Knicks are having an issue rotating their players. Plus they have a few injuries. OG Anunoboy had a hamstring strain during game 2 and would be out for the next 2 games as per reports. Similarly, Jalen Brunson, despite a foot injury, had to start in game 3. If things go this way, then due to exhaustion the Knicks might lose the series and the Pacers will be on top.

The Pacers’ fans would be hoping that Haliburton addresses this advice as soon as possible and the Pacers come out on top taking advantage of the Knicks’ weaknesses.
