Gilbert Arenas wasn’t just known for his sharpshooting skills on the court; off the court, he was every bit as unpredictable. According to Arenas himself, the Washington Wizards‘ locker room was like “a frat house,” a fitting description for a team that often found itself caught up in Arenas’ wild pranks. And just like in any frat house, there was always someone ready to be the butt of the joke. It was Arenas’ playground, and he was the prank master, constantly finding new ways to mess with his teammates.
Arenas’ former teammate Andray Blatche opened up on the Above The Rim with DH 12 podcast about one particular prank that left him in tears. It all started with some harmless trash talk between Blatche, Arenas, and Nick Young. When Blatche returned to Dallas, he found his car missing.
The next day, Blatche spotted his car in the players’ parking lot—but it was now hot pink. As he recounted, “It ain’t mine,” refusing to even acknowledge the vehicle as his. It was the first car he ever owned, and the humiliation cut deep, bringing him to tears. Naturally, Blatche was furious and vowed never to speak to Arenas again.

“I said, ‘Gilbert, don’t ever talk to me again.’ We broke up, like it was a real-life friendship broke up,” Blatche shared on the podcast. But Arenas, in true Arenas fashion, knew how to smooth things over. To make up for his over-the-top joke, he surprised Blatche with a brand-new car. However, this wasn’t the first time Arenas had gone overboard with Blatche.
Arenas once pooped inside Blatche’s shoe—a move so outrageous that even by prank standards, it seemed extreme. As Arenas explained, it was payback because Blatche had thrown all of Arenas’ clothes into the jacuzzi. In Arenas’ words, Blatche deserved every bit of that disgusting revenge. And if you thought that was wild, Arenas once even forced Blatche into taking a milk bath.
Gilbert Arenas forced Andray Blatche into taking a milk bath
Back in 2021, Brendan Haywood took to the No Chill with Gilbert Arenas podcast to share one of the wildest stories from their time as teammates. Andray Blatche was just a rookie then, but Arenas wasted no time making his presence felt.
As Haywood told it, “Gil and Blatche were in the game and Gil decided it would be a good idea if he snuck into Blatche’s locker and put the Red Hot inside of Blatche’s tights.” It wasn’t long before Blatche’s tights started burning up, and he was desperately trying to cool down. Haywood explained that the only way to soothe the fiery sting was with milk, so there was Blatche, in the shower, bathing in milk before the game—all thanks to Arenas’ devilish prank.
Naturally, the story had everyone in stitches, but no one was more amused than Arenas himself. As Haywood wrapped up, Arenas could barely contain his laughter, proudly owning up to his antics.

“I’ve had some fun,” Arenas chuckled, brushing it off with his go-to excuse: “Come on; they’re rookies!” The irony? Blatche wasn’t even a rookie when the prank went down. That little detail only made the entire story even funnier, as Arenas and everyone else on the stage broke into uncontrollable laughter.
