Kids do tend to exaggerate! But it might have been a bit too much this time. Gilbert Arenas recently revealed his conversation with his son, who was sharing how well he had played. Agent Zero revealed that his son had proudly detailed dominating a guy in a blue shirt and even called him “trash.” It quickly took a turn when Agent Zero revealed that the guy in blue was Naz Reid.
The Minnesota Timberwolves star even won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award this year. It is possible that Alijah might have had a few successes, but dominating an NBA player is a tough pill to swallow and this belief soon took over the social media. Did Alijah really manage to defeat Reid?
After the clip went viral, Arenas clarified that Alijah wasn’t aware of who the player was. And he might have exaggerated a bit while describing his performance, as he probably took just one shot against him. “He didn’t know who Naz Reid is. He just knows Kevin Durant like he don’t know he just me and this dude in blue shirt. I was just killing him right. To him, scoring one bucket on him is killing,” Arenas clarified.

He added, “You never know they gonna exaggerate how they did that day right that’s all that was. You don’t know if he was really torching them just two buckets, like yeah I was killing the dude in the blue shirt and I’m looking dude in the blue shirt, Naz Reid. Bro stop relax.” Alijah played with Reid, Durant, and Moses Moody during a workout session at the gym in California.
That is when the faceoff took place. So what did Alija say? As the former Golden State Warriors player recalled, “He (Alijah) said,‘Man, there was a dude in a blue shirt. Oh my god, I was mopping his a**’…I’m like, ‘You scored a couple of buckets?’ He said, ‘No, every time he guarded me, I gave his a** that work. He was mad and he ended up leaving.’ I was like damn, that’s crazy,’”
ESPN ranked Alijah as 4th in the Class of 2026. That explains how good Alijah is. Earlier this month, Arenas confirmed that his son would move up to the Class of 2025. But to dominate an experienced NBA player, he will need more experience. However, he might already have the upper hand over his father.

Gilbert Arenas revealed wise way to remain at the top
Arenas has already admitted that his son is incredibly good in high school and even better than he was. Talking about the current situation, Agent Zero claimed that his son has yet to defeat him. However, if you ask Alijah, he will say that he is perfectly able to dominate his father. But how can that even be possible?

Well, Arenas was wise. He realized that his son was getting better than him, and soon, he would be able to defeat him in a one-on-one game. So, what did he do? He chose to avoid the challenges. “I’m smart, right, once I realize I can lose, I just stop playing,” Arenas said in a conversation with TMZ. That’s correct. There won’t be any defeats for Agent Zero if he refuses to play one-on-one against Alijah.
“He be ducking but a year ago, when we was really playing, he win it but now, nah. He ain’t going to beat me now but he had it back then,” Alijah confirmed. And this instance clearly shows that while we don’t know whether Alijah dominated Reid, he will clearly have the potential to dominate an NBA player. As he becomes eligible for college, Alijah will also have the option to choose his father’s alma mater and prepare for the pro level.
