“Gilbert Arenas changes f***ing opinions like the weather,” said the comedian Aries Spears during an interview with DJ Vlad. The former Washington Wizards have had some strong takes that have made waves on social media. And Spears made it clear that while he loved the NBA veteran, it didn’t sit well with him that Arenas was inconsistent. The comedian was expressing admiration for Michael Jordan‘s time with the Wizards when DJ Vlad brought up Arenas’ story, to which the 49-year-old had a hostile reaction.
Recently, Gilbert Arenas fired back at Spears with a harsh take of his own. “And, and, and, and he’s a Jordan fan, right? 100%. And sometimes I’m a Jordan fan too. I said I was a Kobe fan. I’m a LeBron fan. I’m a greats fan. But that’s what makes me, I guess, fair weathery, right? That I changed my opinion of new things that happen, right? I’m not stuck in some, some people are stuck in times, which is, I call it sad,” Arenas said on VladTV.
“And if you can’t enjoy today, and today is being played, right? Did the LeBron versus Michael Jordan thing, they never played against each other. So how do you hate? How do you hate LeBron if you’re a Jordan fan?” Arenas further questioned Spears over his take on the NBA GOAT debate.

As Arenas mentioned, he has been more of a ‘greats’ fan rather than backing one player in the age-old debate. He has mentioned that LeBron James was the best of all time, as well as Jordan. But this is not the case with Spears, who has been religiously following the Chicago Bulls legend.

Spears has claimed that ‘His Airness’ was the undisputed GOAT and that no one comes close while listing his achievements. “Mike took a c*ke-infested b*m Bulls team, and he lost to the Celtics, 5 Hall-of-Famers, then champions. You don’t think Mike could have taken that Cavs team to the Finals in a Conference that wasn’t as strong? That’s why they called it ‘The Least’n Conference.’ When LeBron was in the East, it was at its weakest. When Jordan was in the East, it was at its strongest; the defense, the physicality, the Knicks, the Cavs, the Pistons, the Pacers,” the comedian said during the same interview.
The former Fox personality believes that Jordan would have been easily able to achieve what James did with the Cavaliers. Adding on, he also made a bold claim that the Eastern Conference was at its weakest while James was in Ohio, further indicating that LBJ had it easier than Jordan. In addition to that, Spears recently took to Instagram to mention that “MJ accomplished more in less time with less help.” It seems the New Jersey comedian was responding to a comparison post including Kobe Bryant and James.

It would be safe to claim that Spears isn’t changing his opinions anytime soon, and it would be interesting to see how he responds to Gilbert Arenas’ fiery message now. Nevertheless, what’s your take on the GOAT debate? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
