Patrick Beverley brought in Gilbert Arenas as a guest on his podcast a few months back, where he revealed something bizarre. The Sixers guard believes he destroyed former NBA veteran Rashad McCants in a workout session for the Lakers in 2012. He also added this ultimately pushed McCants to quit the league.

Pat Bev told Arenas, “I made him quit.” Agent Zero, who runs his own podcast, decided to bring in both McCants and Beverley to find out the truth.

To back up his claims, Beverley roped in Los Angeles Lakers head coach Darvin Ham. The 35-year-old shared, “He[McCants] quit, he quit. Coach Ham said you quit. I don’t have to lie… We hooped. I finished the workout you did.”?

However, McCants did not like Pat’s claims, “I made him quit”. Beverley further added, “I never worked out with a person that didn’t finish the workout.”

The 38-year-old clarified, “I don’t even know Pat like that, to even hear those words come out of his mouth… I didn’t get kicked out of the league because of talent”

This leaves us curious. McCants was the 14th pick in the 2005 NBA Draft. If it was not a skill issue, then what made McCants leave the league in 2010?

Fans had high hopes for McCants when he entered the league. However, he quit the league in just 5 years.

He played most of his days with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The reason for his sudden quit is unclear. In fact, he was supposed to join the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010 but never laced up.

However, several reports revealed that?”he was not serious about his crafts”, and thus he had to quit NBA. All things considered, there is a good chance that Beverley’s claims might be true. Yet, McCants denies it.?
