Almost a year after making headlines with her husband, Dwyane Wade, for winning the prestigious ‘President’s Award’ at the annual NAACP Image Awards, Gabrielle Union is now making her way back to the same stage by herself with nominations from her latest movie. The 51-year-old actress was thankful to everyone for her success.

For the 2024 NAACP Awards, Hollywood star Gabrielle Union was nominated for her role in the movie ‘The Perfect Find‘, for the ‘Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Limited Series, or Dramatic Special’ award.

Congrats to our director @missnuma, our leading man @keithpowers, and my fellow nominees on your nominations!!! #ThePerfectFind,” wrote Gabrielle Union on her Instagram story.

This was not the only nomination the movie got. Union also shared that they received a nomination for ‘Outstanding Directing in a Television Movie or Special’. This is because the movie was released on Netflix and was not played in theaters.

The Miami Heat legend had recently shared the same stage with Gabrielle Union just a couple of months ago, where the couple opened up about their personal lives and families.

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade used their stage to spread awareness

Both Union and Dwyane Wade were given the President’s Award for their special achievements and distinguished public service last year at the NAACP Awards. While accepting this honor, the duo decided to speak openly about Zaya Wade and how they are supportive of their daughter’s decisions, as she recently came out as part of the LGBTQ community.

“My role is to be a facilitator to your hopes, your wishes, and your dreams. Zaya, you’ve made me a better human just simply by being who you were born to be: our baby girl, Zaya Wade. So, baby, thank you for showing the world what courage looks like. I’m proud that I was chosen to stand in place as your father,” said the 4x champion.

Both Union and Wade always prioritize giving back to the community and doing their best to uplift every demographic. Union, who has recently been away from the spotlight, is now back in full glory with her newest nominations. For the star that does so much for the people, these acknowledgments are well deserved.
