When NBA legend Dwyane Wade married actress Gabrielle Union in 2014, fans knew they were witnessing the union of two powerhouse personalities. Nearly a decade later, their relationship continues to charm social media with moments that perfectly capture their relationship. Wade, along with Union, was recently present at the 2024 Academy Museum Gala Red Carpet event. The 51-year-old had taken to her Instagram to post a series of pictures and videos they took during the event showing their A-Game which has ultimately stunned the fans. In that particular post was a video in which Gabrielle was seen rocking standing by the side of the Miami Heat veteran while rocking a gorgeous Elie Saab gown.

But what came next was not even on Dwyane Wade’s list. Union suddenly started dancing to the recent ‘When I Dip U Dip We Dip‘ TikTok trend to which Wade felt embarrassed and left the scene.  The actress later took to her Story to share the video and wrote the caption ‘His Face‘. They’ve had joy, vulnerability, and support for each other on their journey together. Wade and Union’s relationship flourished despite initial challenges, including Wade’s ongoing divorce with Siohvaughn Funches when they met.

The couple has never shied away from revealing their journey, from their brief separation in 2013 to the fertility struggles they overcame to eventually bring their daughter Kaavia James into the world via surrogacy in 2018. Moreover, Union’s willingness to embrace fun and Wade’s endearingly uncomfortable reactions have become a hallmark of their public persona. Just last month, Union took to her Instagram to share a hilarious narrative about making their bond stronger. “We’re not posting farts. And we should because that’s what so much of married life is,” wrote Union as the caption of the story. However, the actress didn’t stop there.

Just a few days after she initially posted the story, Union again stunned her fans with a follow-up Story by reposting a photo which had the caption, “Farting in front of partner can be a positive sign of health and relationship strength, according to science.” But what was the caption that Union wrote when she re-shared the picture? “@dwyanewade we good,” penned the actress. On October 19, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles hosted the fourth annual Academy Museum Gala at which the magic of cinema was celebrated.

In this year’s event, Gladiator II star Paul Mescal received the Vantage Award, alongside Rita Moreno and Quentin Tarantino. Stars like Ariana Grande, Jennifer Lawrence, Kim Kardashian, Zoë Kravitz, Kirsten Dunst, Demi Moore, and Saoirse Ronan were also present at the vent. This latest social media moment joins a long list of endearing interactions between the couple, from their “Shady Baby” Instagram posts with daughter Kaavia to their coordinated red-carpet appearances. As their marriage approaches its tenth anniversary, although Dwyane Wade seems embarrassed, there’s another habit of the Heat veteran that enrages his wife.

Just a few months back Union and Wade celebrated 10 years of their anniversary. But even staying together for such a long time, there are minor things that partners sometimes can’t tolerate. The renowned actress once opened up about a particularly hilarious but annoying habit of her husband that drives her up the wall. During an episode of the  ‘Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard’ podcast, Union shared the habit that fans couldn’t have anticipated.

“My husband’s a throat clearer. And I don’t know why, it incites a level of rage in me every f*cking time…He’s like (Ahem-Ahem)…And I’m like, ‘there’s nothing in there’. It’s just like a tick,” Union noted during the podcast, and there are other habits of Dwyane Wade that she doesn’t like – from leaving the toothpaste cap open to his sweatpants-heavy fashion, the list continues. However, despite the occasional annoyance, Union made it clear that she loves Wade unconditionally and that their playful banter is a vital part of their relationship.
