A shocking turn of events during the Warriors-Timberwolves game has elicited all kinds of reactions. Mostly funny if you’re on the Twitterverse. Kendrick Perkins couldn’t resist chiming in, finding the entire altercation hilarious. It made him display some patriotism while he’s at it if only to poke fun at the players involved. The notorious trash-talkers on either side have escalated to all-out brawling. The one in the spotlight of this aggressive display is, of course, Draymond Green.

The animosity between the Wolves and Dub Nation has been brewing ahead of the game. Previously, a young player from Minnesota provoked Green into a verbal altercation.

Less than two minutes into the game between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Golden State Warriors, a brawl of epic proportions broke out. Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels initially got into an altercation. It resulted into their teammates diving in.

Things took a drastic turn when Draymond Green had Rudy Gobert in a chokehold. The three players excluding Gobert have been ejected from the game but the reactions pour in. Scores don’t matter when this hilarity ensues as Kendrick Perkins has pointed out.

Perk took to his official X page with a statement that most viewers of the match could relate to. “This dude Draymond really just put Rudy in a damn choke hold [laughing emojis] God Bless America.” Indeed, we would be blessed with such entertainment only in the NBA.

At first, Thompson and McDaniels were grabbing at each other’s jerseys 90 seconds in and got into a shoving match. Klay’s jersey even ripped in the dust-up. Gobert tried to break it up when Green interfered and had him in a headlock. Thompson and McDaniels were ejected on technicals. Green was out on a level 2 flagrant foul.

The Warriors broadcasting crew has been hailing Green for coming to Thompson’s defense. But these early ejections when the score was at 0-0 has made the game unpredictable.

It’s not surprising that it escalated to this point. More than one player on the Minnesota side has been provoking Green into fighting back. And it got Kevin Garnett’s attention too.

Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards has zeroed in on Draymond Green, understandably because both enjoy talking smack.

Antman fired off a threatening message to Green ahead of Sunday’s game. During the game too, both got into a verbal altercation but it didn’t lead to any fouls. It instead spurred Edwards to step up with a 33-7-6 night, leading the Timberwolves to a 116-110 victory.

He’s effectively putting himself in the race for MVP in his fourth NBA season. Kevin Garnett was thoroughly impressed by the 22-year-old with the talent to back all that trash-talk.
