Kiyan Anthony has a big decision to make with offers from Syracuse, USC, and Florida State. While he wouldn’t mind a ‘one and done’ option on the court, off the court, he is busy not just following his mother’s footsteps but proving that young bucks can just as easily forge strong brand identities and jumpstart their legacies early on in their career.
This comes during the same time top high school basketball recruit in the class of 2025, AJ Dybantsa, the 6’9” forward from Utah Prep, landed on a historic Nike deal reportedly worth over $4 million, unlocking a new generation of can’t-miss assets who are yet to play a single minute of college ball!
Now, Kiyan has signed with WME for NIL representation—the same billion-dollar company that represents his mother La La. Announcing the news, WME wrote in an Instagram post, “WME Sports is proud to announce we have signed Long Island Lutheran guard Kiyan Anthony to exclusive NIL representation.”

“Anthony, the top-ranked player in New York for the 2025 recruiting class, is a pure bucket-getter who led the NBPA Top 100 Camp in scoring this past June, averaging 28.5 points per game. Kiyan ranked 11th in scoring in this year’s Nike EYBL, averaging 19.6 points per game along with 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest for Team Melo. Welcome to the family, Kiyan!”
Even mother La La Anthony was excited about her son’s future. “Let’s gooooo🔥🔥🔥🔥,” was what she wrote in the comment section. After all, in June this year, she signed with the agency.
Endeavor Group Holdings, which is the parent company of WME, is going private. Private equity firm Silver Lake Capital is leading the privatization and the value of the acquisition is said to be $13 billion.

But coming back to Kiyan, Carmelo Anthony‘s son is making moves in the business world. His clothing line ‘One Way’ started in 2023 in partnership with his friend Jadyn, plus he signed three different NIL deals last year. The 17-year-old signed with PSD Underwear in September 2023, then Nerf, and signed his third NIL deal with the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation on October 26, 2023. Thus, his NIL valuation is currently $1.1 million.
That ranks him 11th in high school basketball NIL rankings, as per On3. Speaking about ranking, Kiyan’s shortlist is now down to three and the choice will be out soon.
Kiyan and Carmelo Anthony will together reveal the final choice
Currently, USC, Syracuse, and Auburn are the top 3 colleges on Kiyan’s wishlist, but he is confident he will do good in the NIL aspect of things. He told Reese, “Obviously with NIL and everything [you’re] still going to get paid… Yeah, so [obviously] you still making money if you are in college or if you are in a league.”
The four-star recruit on Angel Reese’s podcast made things interesting when he said “two weeks” until the decision. And now the #1 in New York will speak about his selection alongside his dad on ‘7PM in Brooklyn’ podcast.

“NEWS: Kiyan Anthony, a Top 35 prospect in the class of 2025 will announce his college decision Friday, November 15th on his father’s show 7pm in Brooklyn. Anthony is the son of NBA legend Carmelo Anthony. Finalists: Syracuse, USC, and Auburn,” wrote recruiting analyst Dushawn London on X. So basketball fans will have to wait a little longer to see what takes place.
Previously, Melo stated he wouldn’t influence his son’s choice. This is despite the fact that Kiyan has an offer from Syracuse—the program Anthony led to the 2003 national championship as a freshman. In fact, he has donated a large amount to the school’s basketball facility, which bears his name.
“[My father] never pushes me to go to Syracuse just because his name is on the gym,” Anthony told ESPN in September. “He did so much at Syracuse. He knows that I’m my own person. I’ve just got to make my own decision at the end of the day.”

“If it is Syracuse — I go there a lot and I practice, I work out there — if it is that, that’s what it is. But he’s never going to say, ‘You got to go to Syracuse. You got to go there because I went there.’ He’s not going to make me follow in his footsteps unless I really want to.”
Only time will tell what Kiyan Anthony has in mind. But we know his career ahead is going to be interesting to follow. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.
