Los Angeles Lakers icon Magic Johnson is probably the biggest supporter of NBA teams and stars. Time and again, you can see the 5x champion giving several superstars their credit. But that feeling is not reciprocated in some cases. Despite receiving his flowers from Johnson, a 4x All-Star did not hesitate to walk past him in a conversation about the ‘Greatest point guard of all-time’.

There’s no doubt that Magic is one of the best guards to ever play the game. Even though he has a decorated resume, a big question arises when he is compared with Warriors superstar Stephen Curry. “Who is the better player?” Fans might have their own theories, yet they would still be hesitant to place one above another. However, that was not the case when it came to a 4x champion.?

Magic Johnson holds a special place for NBA athletes who have succeeded in their careers. The 64-year-old has not been shy in expressing it. One such time was before the start of the NBA playoffs when the Lakers icon took the time to congratulate his fellow college alums.?

One of them was Draymond Green, to whom the 3x MVP gave a special shoutout. Johnson tweeted,?“I want to also shoutout the most famous Spartan playing…with 4 championship rings Draymond Green.”

Despite receiving such loving words from Johnson, Green decided to walk past him. In a recent interview with ESPN, Green was asked to choose between Curry and Johnson. The 4x champion without hesitation mentioned, “It’s a very easy one for me…I gotta roll with the dawg that I rolled in with, and that’s Steph Curry.

It’s indeed fair that Green chose someone who he plays with rather than someone he watched playing. He knows Curry the best. As a matter of fact, Curry chose himself when he was questioned about the same recently.

Green believes the comparisons are lazy. In addition, the 2017 DPOY also believes Johnson and Curry have different gameplay and they don’t belong to the same position.

Ultimately, Green ended the interview with, “I think they’re both GOATs…They are both the greatest point guards of their eras.”?Clearly Green has given Johnson his respect, but at the same time, he won’t hesitate to choose Curry over him.?
