Basketball has been a part of Kevin Garnett’s whole life. Even after retiring, he stayed close to the sport and worked in the media. He became one of the best players ever in basketball. But this was not something he attained by himself. Kevin Garnett had his teammates with him, but most importantly, he had his coaches, who guided him along the way.
The Timberwolves legend saw Coach Prime display his dedication to the team and how he motivates his team for each match. After weeks of sharing his support for Deion Sanders on social media, ‘The Big Ticket‘ organized a sit-down talk with the NFL legend. During the conversation, Garnett went into detail about the importance of a coach.

In a recent episode of KG Certified, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were joined by Deion Sanders. Kevin Garnett talked about how the relationship was back in the day between players and coaches.
Garnett said that the players used to respect coaches, but they don’t do that as much nowadays. Garnett said, “Your coach is damn near like your dad“. He himself has been close with his coach for over 30 years.
The coach would be involved in everything. Both on and off the court with the players. The coach is everything for a player. They take care of you and let you know what’s best for you and how to follow your routine. Your coach is who you go to and talk to whenever you need somebody. That’s how it used to be back in the day when Garnett was playing.
Garnett then said, “The coach is the closest thing that you can relate to“.
?
So Garnett knows how important the role of a coach is for a team. Maybe that is why he did not accept when he was given a coaching position with the Boston Celtics.

Garnett bashed all the NBA coaches
Paul George revealed in an episode of his podcast how Kevin Garnett shouted at all the coaches in the NBA. Apparently, during an All-Star weekend, the reporters and coaches went to have food before the players were given food to eat. This made Kevin Garnett mad, and he called everyone out and told them to put their plates down.
He let everyone know that it was the players who went out and performed and put their bodies on the line. So they deserve to have food first. Garnett just wants all the players to be respected. Paul George then said that he learned what Garnett was saying, and he agrees that the players have earned that respect to have food first, even though the media and coaches are also part of the NBA.
