If Hack-a-Shaq is the testament to O’Neal’s domination in paint, it’s also a reflection of his terrible free throw skills. For those unaware, one of the most popular techniques of stopping Shaquille O’Neal inside the paint was committing intentional fouls against him, sending him to the free-throw line. This later became a defensive strategy that would work perfectly against players with subpar free-throw skills. And it seems Myles O’Neal does not want his sister to struggle with the same weak point that his father had to work against.
The 27-year-old recently shared a moment from her sister’s recent game when she was at the free throw line. “You better make this free throw,” Myles said in the video. And she did! Overall, Me’arah contributed 6 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal to the Gator’s victory. Not exceptional, but still substantial for a freshman.
And considering the Gators won 102-67 against the Florida A7m Rattlers, the job was done anyway. Yep, Me’arah was playing against the female counterparts of his brother Shaqir O’Neal’s college team. As for her free throws, she shot 3 for 3. However, it’s not as if the 18-year-old has not reflected a hint of shooting struggles. If you caught her last game against the Owls, you’d know she shot 2 for 8 from the field and 1 for 7 from beyond the arc.

Me’Arah, however, made both her free throws against the Owls as well. Something that Shaquille O’Neal can be relieved about. Especially considering that him being ‘Superman’ of the league, free throws have been his kryptonite. While the league has had an average free throw percentage of something between 70-80 for decades now, Shaq closed his NBA career with 52.7. While this is a chagrin for a player of his stature, another one of the 4x NBA champ’s 3-point shooting stats will shock you.

Shaquille O’Neal attempted just 22 3-point shots through his 19-year-long career, but how many did he make?
As mentioned earlier, Shaq’s NBA career was mostly about raw power and unstoppable force in the paint. But does that mean he never ventured beyond the three-point line? Surprisingly, across his nearly 19-year career, Shaq attempted just 22 three-pointers. If that number feels low, the next part might leave you shaking your head.

He made exactly one 3-point shot. Yep, 1 in 1,207 regular-season games. So, what’s the story behind this rare moment, you ask? It was the 1995-96 season, and O’Neal found himself just past half-court as the quarter was winding down against the Bucks. With no teammates open and the clock ticking, he heaved the ball up, and, defying every expectation, it banked off the backboard and went in.
And that was that—the only 3-point shot Shaquille O’Neal ever made. Now, it’s only natural that the Big Diesel would want her daughter to be more versatile on the court. And from the recent video posted in his IG story, so does Myles O’Neal.
