NBA Hall of Famer Dwyane Wade has had one of the most decorated NBA careers in the ?Modern NBA?. Apart from being a gifted basketball player, he is a doting father to his children and a loving husband to his wife, Gabrielle Union-Wade. The couple welcomed their daughter and fifth child of the family, Kaavia Union-Wade, in November 2018.

The NBA couple became proud parents of their daughter Kaavia Union-Wade on November 7th 2018. Since their daughter?s birth through surrogacy, the couple seems to be in a much more stable and healthy phase of their 9-year marriage.

Gabrielle Union-Wade mentioned in her Instagram video, ?People always ask, ?Is it worth it? Having kids later in life? There?s a lot that goes into that answer.?. She smiles as she says, ?But in a nutshell: hell yeah, it’s been worth it.?. She further adds, ?I became a mom at the right time?. After the NBA couple struggled to conceive naturally, they placed their hopes on the process of surrogacy. The process of ?surrogacy? may change in terms of paperwork and procedure from state to state but surrogacy is legally permitted in the U.S.A.

The picture-perfect couple, however, faced some serious problems in their relationship before they welcomed their daughter into this world. The couple were reportedly going through an extremely tough phase in their relationship and even considered separating, after the news of Dwyane Wade being unfaithful to Gabrielle Union made the headlines.

During the couple?s tough phase, the NBA legend was unfaithful to his wife with TV personality, Aja Metoyer from ?Basketball Wives?. Aja Metoyer gave birth to Dwyane Wade?s fourth child and his name is Xavier Wade.

Dwyane Wade?s professional life is awe-inspiring as he is a role model for many upcoming basketball athletes who want to make it into the NBA. After getting drafted into the NBA in 2003, the Miami Heat legend stayed with his first wife till 2010, before ending it in 2007 after years of discontent. The couple had two children: Zaya and Zaire Wade.

After this, he got married to his current wife, Gabrielle Union-Wade, in 2014. The couple met in 2007, but only started dating in 2009. The couple seemed ?picture perfect? until the controversy between Dwyane Wade and Aja Metoyer came to light. They worked past this extremely tough phase of their relationship and finally seem to be in a much happier place in 2023.

The Wade family comprises 7 members now. Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union-Wade, and their 5 children: Zaire Wade, Zaya Wade, Dahveon Morris, Xavier Wade, and Kaavia Wade. Dahveon Morris is his nephew, his sister Deanna Morris?s son. He got custody of Morris in 2011.
