The Boston Celtics have been flawless in road games this playoffs, and they continued the streak today against the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The only difference this time was Jayson Tatum, who was unstoppable from the field, especially in the third quarter, which gave the men in green a huge lead to seal the game, 106-93. Surprisingly, Tatum and Co. earned a new fan today, and it was former Celtics center Kendrick Perkins, who has been the first to criticize the team in the postseason. So fans decided to show their wrath toward the 2008 champion.

Tatum dropped a game-high of 33 points, to tie with Donovan Mitchell of the Cavs. While Mitchell’s offensive display went in vain, Tatum’s performance helped the Celtics take a 2-1 lead in the series. Perkins saw a difference in how Tatum played today and absolutely loved it. 

The 39-year-old shared on X, “Completely different Celtics team when Tatum decides to be Powerful instead of Popular. Finally ARRIVED to the Playoffs and did it in Great Fashion on the road where Superstars supposed to show up.” 

Fans were surprised to see these positive words from Perkins, as he has not given the Celtics their flowers on a lot of occasions. The Boston fans decided to go a bit further today by asking Big Perk to stay on the other side. 

“Don’t even talk about the Celtics anymore“: Fans have only one request for Kendrick Perkins 

Perkins has been a huge fan of the New York Knicks this postseason. He has endorsed Jalen Brunson on several occasions in the last two weeks. Boston fans who took note of this, decided to highlight it, to shut him down. A fan wrote on X, “Go Ride New York Don’t even talk about the Celtics anymore…. Stay on that side.” 

After the Miami Heat took down the Celtics in Game 2 of the first round, Perkins shared a video in which he said, “Every single time…I put a little bit trust on the Boston Celtics and here we go again…This was supposed to sweep.” Perkins cut no slack and that triggered the Celtics fans. 

An X user shared, “They lost 2 games in 2 rounds, it’s the playoffs the competition is there to win too, Tatum is contributing to winning that’s all that matters, if he was tryna be popular he would be out there shooting 30 times, instead he’s defending, rebounding, etc. Stop it Perk!!“ Tatum has improved a lot on the defensive end this year. He even had 13 rebounds, a steal, and a block today. 

“Hey Perk, keep JTs name out of your mouth. Celtics Nation doesn’t want you anymore,” said another user. The Boston fans have quite literally kicked Perkins out of the Celtics, who spent his first 8 years in Beantown and played a major role in the franchise’s only championship in the last 30+ years. 

Another user shared on X, “They’re 6-2 in the playoffs but hey, here’s your engagement you so desperately seek.” Celtics have the best record in the playoffs this year after the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are 6-1. They are tied with the Oklahoma City Thunder with a 6-2 record.

“Nobody talks out of both sides of their mouth like you, complete fraud of a player and analyst,“ said another netizen. This was quite brutal. However, what the fans are expecting from Kendrick Perkins is to choose one side and stick to it instead of jumping the bandwagon.
