Paul Pierce is a busy man! The 2008 NBA Finals MVP has been actively moving across America, chilling at world-famous events and festivals. His latest bucket list completion was Formula 1 at Las Vegas. While the event was a huge success, Pierce had a lot to say about the difference between the F1 tradition and the American culture.?
In a huge 50-minute podcast with his former teammate Kevin Garnett, the Truth highlighted the difference between his expectations of the event and his experience over its three days.?

This past weekend, the Las Vegas Strip had a lot of visitors from across the globe. Though it was filled with mostly Americans, the three-day F1 event was nothing close to the home culture according to Paul Pierce. Kevin Garnett started the podcast by asking about the 1-time NBA champion’s experience at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
The Truth revealed, “The environment was real cool, the set up…I think they spent like two-three hundred million on production…It was a classy side”. Despite such a grand description, Paul Pierce still didn’t find the sport and the culture to be his thing.?
Pierce added,?“I got to see what’s going on. You know I don’t know this environment, this is out of my element…This is something different bro, this is a European thing…So I’m just kind of sitting back, laying, seeing what it really is.”?
Garnett questioned if Pierce witnessed any American culture during the event. The Boston Celtics legend replied with a no.

The 46-year-old revealed that he was waiting to see some performances by rappers or music artists but sadly, there was no showcase of it in Las Vegas. The only thing Pierce was happy about was the food and the ambiance.
Kevin Garnett has a solution for F1?

Paul Pierce revealed there were a few performances, but none of it was from the hip-hop community.
Kevin Garnett shared, “It’s new to us and they are actually trying to integrate it by using our streets, use our downtowns”. Though F1 might not feature Big Ticket‘s favorite type of vehicle, he is still trying to help them integrate with American culture. The 2004 NBA MVP suggested that the F1 community could pull in American rappers like Lil Baby, Diddy, Rick Ross, and Meek Mill.?

In fact, Pierce mentioned that he wanted it to be something similar to an All-Star weekend. Well, the Celtics legends do not want to sacrifice the American culture whatsoever. Though Pierce was happy to be in Las Vegas, he definitely expected more from the F1 experience.?
