It’s time to get over Luka Dončić’s trade to the Lakers. A more bizarre trade could be on its way, as rumors of the Phoenix Suns trading star player Kevin Durant have surfaced. Once again, the hopes for the 36-year-old to stay with the Suns seem to be fading. ESPN analyst Mad Dog Russo has a lot to say about the pattern, but a former Warriors player isn’t too pleased, taking a hilarious and indirect dig at him.
Durant’s trade talks aren’t the most preferred topic, but someone who is perhaps more frustrated is Russo. Speaking on First Take, Russo criticized Durant over how the Suns players’ career decisions have panned out after Durant’s first major move, leaving the Golden State Warriors.
“The Durant mystique has taken a a huge hit with the American Sports Fan…First off, he bailed on Oklahoma City to join a team that he couldn’t beat at Golden State then he leaves Golden State to go play for the Nets with Kyrie…” Russo continued his rant.

He further added, “Think of the mess that he has been. He got Atkinson fired. He’s now one of the best coaches in the league. The Nets were a disaster, he got swept by the Celtics in the playoffs. He forces himself to Phoenix he goes to Phoenix they get molded by Denver.” “Now let’s find another place for him when he can’t win in Phoenix. Enough of Kevin Durant when he gets traded wake me up when it’s over that’s the take I have on Durant,” he concluded.

However, one person who seemingly doesn’t agree with Russo is retired NBA player Stephen Jackson. He took a snap of the screen showing the segment, posted it on his IG Story, and wrote, “ESPN hire anybody.” Even in the past, Jackson has shown support for Durant, who was criticized for joining the Golden State Warriors in 2016.

Will Kevin Durant join the Golden State Warriors?
Before that, he played nine years for the OKC Thunder. “Can’t play a whole NBA career, not raise that trophy one time. That’s why I love KD. KD said, ‘I wasn’t finishing my career with no championships,” Jackson said. Durant’s decision was heavily criticized as an attempt to win a championship. However, despite all the heat, he went on to win two championships with the Warriors and was named Finals MVP twice. And now, the rumors are swirling once again.
For a long time, there have been rumors about the Suns bringing Jimmy Butler to the roster to team him up with Durant and Devin Booker. However, Bradley Beal’s no-trade clause has been causing issues for the team in acquiring the Miami Heat star.
While Durant has not asked for a trade, the team will still be able to move him. And the Warriors were certainly interested in the deal. The Phoenix Suns‘ player has a history with the Warriors, and a return to Golden State Warriors might be a great option if Durant were to go back.

However, as per the reports by Shams Charania on ESPN, Durant has been clear about his intention not to reunite with the team in the Bay Area. Not just the Warriors, Miami has also shown interest in acquiring Durant. Is there a possibility that the two teams might end up swapping stars. It may seem strange, but so was Dončić’s trade. While Durant’s hesitation to reunite with his former team has dampened hopes, the question still lingers, where will the Slim Reaper land next?
