Michael Jordan first and Matt Barnes now: it seems NBA star lookalikes are emerging from the shadows. It’s often said that there are seven people in the world who look alike, and Nate Robinson believes he’s found Matt Barnes’ doppelgänger. However, Barnes doesn’t seem too pleased with Robinson’s discovery. And he’s not hiding his emotions from anyone.
Nate Robinson shared a viral reel with over 100k views on his story. It features a short-statured man sharing a surprising resemblance with Matt Barnes. “Bro yall can’t tell me buddy dnt look like @matt barnes9… “ he wrote in the caption.
Matt re-shared the story with his response: “🖕🏽🖕🏽🖕🏽[middle finger emojis] @naterobinson 😂🤣,” taking the video in good humor. Can you blame Robinson? The resemblance is uncanny.

Does Matt Barnes' doppelgänger prove the 'seven lookalikes' theory, or is it just a funny coincidence?

However, if this can happen to one of the most recognizable figures in the NBA, it can happen to anyone.
For those unaware, J&S AutoHaus (Exotic Car Experts) had recently shared an Instagram video featuring a man who looked so much like MJ that a dealership employee tried convincing another that he was the real deal. “That’s him, bro,” he confidently said.
The employee further went all in, walking up to the lookalike and saying, “Mike. What’s going on, bro… You’re not here for the Porsche, are you?” And just like that, the MJ look-alike played along, claiming he wanted everything on the lot.
The key difference here? Jordan was not subjected to humor at his expense like Robinson hilariously did to Barnes. The fact that Barnes once saved Robinson from humor being made at his expense has to sting a bit for the ex-Laker.
Matt Barnes appealed against fans making of Nate Robinson after his daring
Robinson set the internet on fire when he stepped into the boxing ring against YouTuber-turned-fighter Jake Paul. But instead of just talking about his courage, social media had a field day turning him into a meme after Paul’s brutal second-round knockout. Sure, some people gave Nate his flowers for taking on the challenge, but the flood of jokes didn’t sit right with everyone—especially former NBA players Matt Barnes and Glen Davis, who weren’t happy about how people clowned Nate after the fight.

Barnes made sure everyone knew Nate deserved respect for stepping into the ring. And let’s be real – how many people would actually do what Nate did? Fighting a trained boxer, especially one like Jake Paul, who’s proven he can hold his own, is no easy feat. Yet, instead of recognizing that, many were quick to tear Nate down from the comfort of their couches.
Barnes put it best: “Respect for stepping into the ring, first and foremost. Show some love because a lot of mothafu*kers didn’t have that kind of heart to do that in the first place, so respect on that. People need to understand you need a lot of heart to do what you did, bro, so salute, respect.”
It’s clear that the two stars share a bond of great love and respect. Even Barnes couldn’t keep a straight face watching Robinson’s IG post.
