What was it like playing alongside LeBron James, knowing that you could have had a legendary career like him? We have former Timberwolves point guard Sebastian Telfair share his hard story with famous YouTuber ‘VLAD’, bringing back some challenging stages of his career. The stakes were high for Telfair when he entered the league alongside LeBron James in the early 2000s. It was in those times when he was put in the same conversation as James for being looked upon as a superstar prospect.

Anyhow, things did not go his way after he kept facing problems one after the other. After several seasons, he got a chance to play with James for the Cleveland Cavaliers. When questioned about it, he shared, “Cool, but I’m not the same person”. That is how problematic his career was before joining the Cavs. Anyhow, he believes the 4-time MVP was already a “superstar” in his entry into the league. 

Telfair shared a small scenario to explain how unexpectedly his career was moving. He said, “To put it in context, like, take LeBron’s Nikes off of him the second year. Do that help him? How much would that hurt LeBron?… By the time I get to Cleveland, I’m basically winging it. That’s the real truth. I’m still trying… I’m kind of talking in third person speaking about the situation”. 

Nothing went his way for Telfair in most of the season he played in the NBA. 

How did Sebastian Telfair’s episode with the police in 2007 ruin his career? 

During his time with the Boston Celtics, the 38-year-old was charged with a felony for possession of a weapon. He was given probation for three years and he was also suspended for three games after he pleaded guilty. Anyhow, this did not stop there. Later in 2017, after he was found speeding in his car, the police found “a semi-automatic rifle, ammunition, and marijuana” under the seats, which got him arrested. 

This is how wildly Telfair’s career took a turn.

He starred alongside James as the cover for SLAM’s 2000 edition. While the King was winning championships in 2017, Telfair was facing the law for his misbehavior. Anyhow, his time with the 4-time champion at Cleveland was something he will not easily forget. Telfair could have had what James has right now, but sadly, nothing went his way.
