A lot of fans were excited to see Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman together during the Chicago Bulls‘ Ring of Honor ceremony when it was announced. However, none of the stars attended the event and sent video messages instead. Furthermore, the event soon turned ugly when the fans booed the late Jerry Krause in front of his widow. Jordan received some stick for Krause’s portrayal in The Last Dance docuseries. However, a recent viral video could prove that His Airness was not to be blamed.

The clip was from the Bulls’ ring ceremony in 1997. When Krause’s name was announced, it was met with a chorus of boos from the crowd. The fan account shared it on and claimed the blame against the 5x NBA MVP was uncalled for. It was posted to remind people that the Bulls fans never liked Krause.

While many fans agreed with the notion, some were still not convinced. Some believed Jordan was the reason behind the boos in 1997 as well. One fan commented, “That’s because Jordan and his PR team were already controlling the narrative back then.” The Last Dance docuseries and MJ received a lot of backlash from fans online as they believed the show depicted Krause in a negative light.

Following the saddening reaction at the Ring of Honor ceremony, many fans voiced their support for the former GM and his widow and criticized the Bulls fan base. One thing is clear, though. The rift between the Krause and MJ during their time together in Chicago was no secret and most fans sided with Air Jordan.

An excerpt from the memoir reads, “Personally, despite our problems off the court, he was great to deal with on the court, where it counts. He wanted to win as much as I did, and we both were driven by winning again and again, looking for any edge to keep it going.”

” … Were we good for one another? I think we turned out to be a great match. We were both stubborn, strong-willed competitors, proud of our ability and wanting to carve out our own niche in the game’s hierarchy.”
