What could a man with a $500 million net worth regret? He has all the luxuries anyone could imagine. From an impeccable NBA legacy to a thriving music career, Shaquille O’Neal, known as The Big Aristotle has it all. Yet, despite being a 4x NBA champion, there’s one thing Shaq feels he hasn’t accomplished in his career. Reflecting on his first-ever album, he revealed one lingering void.

During his appearance on Round 1 of Judging Your Music, O’Neal shared that he regrets not having a truly hard-hitting song. Since his debut album, he has released around 100 songs, even exploring genres like EDM.

His first EDM album was titled Gorilla Warfare. However, Shaq admitted that he still hasn’t created a track that gives him the same thrill as when he listened to it for the first time. I’ve did a 100 songs but I don’t have one that when you still play it 20 years later, it still hard like that like that,O’Neal voiced on Whozfire.

A big fan of rap and music, Shaq also mentioned how some songs continue to give him that same old “kick,” no matter how many times he listens to them. He also praised fellow guest Kayo on the show, expressing admiration for his work.

Despite this regret, O’Neal has had a legendary career in both the NBA and music. However, while reflecting on his debut platinum album, the Lakers legend revealed a harsh reality of the music industry that left him shocked.

But he was also passionate about making music. In 1993, he released his debut album, Shaq Diesel, which quickly gained popularity, reaching the No. 25 spot on the Billboard 200.

It also peaked at No. 10 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Despite this impressive list of accolades and earning Platinum status, The Big Aristotle didn’t make much money from his first album, just about $60,000.

In interviews and his memoir, Shaq revealed that this was the reason he never pursued music as a full-time career. After the record label and others involved took their share, he was left with only $60,000. Despite these tough lessons, O’Neal still has a deep love for music. He’s not in it for the money. He has a massive business empire. After retirement, he returned to music and DJing because of his passion for it.
