The Golden State Warriors are on a decline. This is prompting analysis from fans, analysts, veterans, and everyone else. While most people are trying to spot the chink in the armor, JJ Redick still has a positive thought to spare for the Warriors. Recently, he talked about their chances of moving forward this season.

Redick said that even though the Warriors are performing poorly in the league, they still have what it takes to get back on track. More importantly, he thinks that Stephen Curry shouldn’t be counted among the ‘problems’ in the team, as he has been consistent.

Redick recalled Steve Kerr’s comment on players heading towards the last chapter of their career. He said, “You need to enjoy the last chapter of your career. Right now, there’s a lot of anger. A lot of negative energy happening all the time. That affects the group”. Redick pointed out all the incidents that have taken place in the Warriors’ camp that can be used as an example of having a negative energy around.

He said, “This is not an analytical debate here. This is really just about the energy people bring to a group”. The NBA veteran then went on to talk about Steph and how all his efforts amount to nothing because of the energy the team is consumed by.

He said, “I think the one guy in that core group that has been very consistent, at least for me outside, and at least when you talk to people internally with the Warriors is Steph. Not just the play, I’m talking about the energy, the attitude day to day, joy of the game. It hasn’t been reciprocated by a lot of guys”.

As per Redick, Curry has been extremely consistent and not at all problematic while the rest of the team has been lacking in either of the highly required aspects of the game. Regardless of where they stand on the Western Conference charts as of now, the NBA veteran has his faith in the Warriors.
