Heartbreak. Frustration. Darkness. That’s the vibe surrounding the Philadelphia 76ers right now. Bad luck is practically haunting them. The Sixers are in a full-blown free fall, sitting at the 12th seed in the Eastern Conference with a brutal 23-46 record. And with the season winding down, the road back to relevance seems nearly impossible. Fans are losing hope. The team looks lost. But just when it seems like all is lost, Paul Pierce steps in with a solution for Daryl Morey, one that might just be the lifeline Philly desperately needs.
This really wasn’t how the 76ers’ 2024-25 season was supposed to go. After making the NBA’s biggest free-agent splash in years, locking in Paul George on a four-year max, expectations were sky-high. Philly doubled down, extending Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey to massive deals. Analysts called them the winners of the offseason. And yet… here they are, sinking. Embiid’s lingering injuries have kept him off the floor for most of the season, and without him, the Sixers have only fallen deeper into the quicksand. Maybe it’s time for a reset. Or at least, Paul Pierce seems to think so.
On the latest episode of KG Certified, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett didn’t hold back while talking about the mess in Philly. “What’s going on in Philly is a disaster,” Pierce said bluntly. Garnett tried to defend the Sixers. “Those guys got hurt though,” he argued. But Pierce wasn’t buying it. Injuries? Sure, they played a role. But in his eyes, that wasn’t the only reason for the collapse. Sensing Pierce’s frustration, Garnett pressed him. “What would you do? You’re the owner of the gym, what we doing?”

Pierce didn’t hesitate. And his answer? It shocked everyone. “If I’m the owner, everybody’s gone. I’m talking all the way down.” Garnett was stunned to hear that. He fired back. “Aren’t you keeping Maxey?” Turns out, Tyrese Maxey is the only one making the cut. Pierce is ready to clean house: coaches, front office, players, everyone. “I’m starting with the front office. We’re running backward… It’s time for a fresh start in Philly for everybody.”

Even KG couldn’t believe it. “Damn, the whole team?” he asked in disbelief. Pierce doubled down. “The whole organization… completely.” He called it a much-needed “fresh air for everybody.” That’s his verdict. Now, the real question is will Sixers’ President Daryl Morey actually listen?

Paul Pierce gives a wild take on LaMelo Ball’s future in Charlotte
Paul Pierce knows a thing or two about loyalty. He spent nearly a decade grinding in Boston before the Celtics finally surrounded him with the right pieces to win a championship in 2008. But looking back, he doesn’t want today’s superstars to go through the same struggles. And when it comes to LaMelo Ball? Pierce is making his stance very clear. While talking with Kevin Garnett on KG Certified, Pierce didn’t hold back.
“If I’m LaMelo, I’m looking to get out of Charlotte,” he said.
Brutal. But is he wrong? This season, Ball has been putting up superstar numbers – 25.4 points, 7.2 assists, and 5.1 rebounds in 44 games. His growth should be a huge positive for both fans and the franchise. But according to Pierce and Garnett, Charlotte’s constant struggles are the real problem.

A player of Ball’s talent deserves a shot at winning. And if the Hornets can’t give him that? Pierce thinks it’s time to move on. But Ball didn’t listen to him. Despite the Hornets’ lack of success, he’s still out there, leading the team in scoring and carrying the load all by himself.
