The NBA on TNT broadcast season only just began and it’s hotter than ever. A hip-hop titan walked into the set of Inside the NBA to drop some ice on the resident athlete-rapper, Shaquille O’Neal. This comes straight after the 4x NBA champion’s career was immortalized in an epic rap song. And DJ Diesel couldn’t just leave a song about himself alone.

So he collaborated with Damian Lillard to put his spin on this song. The previously feuding athlete-rappers came together on TNT to present the best tribute to the other muse of this song.

After downplaying Damian Lillard’s alternate rap career, Shaquille O’Neal put his differences aside to perform with him. DJ Diesel and Dame Dolla performed their remix of Rick Ross and Meek Mill’s latest track, “Shaq & Kobe” on TNT. As if that wasn’t enough, the originator of the song, Rick Ross, was in the studio himself.

Along with Meek Mill and their entourage, the $150 million worth rapper presented Shaq with a gift to remember this occasion – a massive, iced-out MMG necklace. MMC represents the emcee’s record label, Maybach Music Group. Shaq took to his Instagram to commemorate Ross, the spinning MMG bling, and his collaboration with Dame in one post.

best day ever, my favorite rapper @richforever just blessed me with a MMG chain. i’m a cry. thanks @meekmill . first he allowed me and @damianlillard get on that shaq and kobe remix. go stream that now…..#MMG #DIESELDOGMAFIA,” Shaq wrote in his post. He showed off the necklace in his hand and it’s big enough to cover the 7’1″ giant’s fist.

Ross was not far behind either. He showed off his present to O’Neal and the significance behind it. “The Very Biggest of them All @shaq, we been family, dat new #mmg piece just a small token for what you mean not only to myself but this entire Culture. Dat big brother WE never knew WE had,” the MMG mogul wrote on social media.

Rick Ross squashes every beef rumor

SoundCloud-born Dame Lillard made his mark as an athlete-rapper with his 2020 single, “Kobe.” A few days before this NBA season began, he was on Shaq’s radar as he declared he was the original athlete-rapper before Dame Dolla was ever on the scene.

Shortly before that, Meek Mill and Rick Ross dropped “Shaq & Kobe,” the first single from their joint album, Too Good to be True. This collaboration ended rumors of a feud between Mill and Ross. And they’ve prevented a feud between Shaq and Dame too.

The rappers and athletes involved have not disclosed how this collaboration came to be shortly after O’Neal took jabs at Lillard. But that’s a story everyone is dying to know. Mill and Ross’ album will be released on November 10. Meanwhile, O’Neal and Dame’s “Shaq & Kobe” remix is now available for streaming.
