Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most successful athletes to ever come out of the NBA. Not just with his on-court success, but also the things he did outside of it. Shaq has 4 NBA titles and 15 All-Star appearances to his name. But what makes him stand out among the crowd is his humility. After all his success and a massive $400 million net worth, the Big Man is still somehow relatable to most of us.

Recently, during a conversation with NFL great Tom Brady, Shaq once again proved why he is loved so much across ages and all over the world. The LA Lakers legend told Brady that even though he is a highly successful individual, he is “still a kid at heart”. Which rings true, considering what he said soon after.

It’s pretty common to see fans going gaga over their favorite celebrities. It’s the years of love and admiration that spills out once we come across some of our favorite icons. However, one would assume that someone as famous as Shaq would be able to handle himself better. It turns out that the 7’1 giant is just like all of us when it comes to people he admires. Shutting down his level of fame and turning into a fanboy for his favorite athletes must be a sweet sight to behold. Especially if you know anything about the NBA days Shaq, the ruthless giant who could go against anyone in the league.

The Lakers legend values his friendship with quarterback Tom Brady. Shaq told Brady that he still gets excited over the fact that he gets to hang out with the greatest quarterback to ever grace the game. Additionally, Shaq holds bragging rights in front of his family because he gets to say that Brady knows who he is and that he has met his family. The Big Man told Brady “Thank you for the friendship. Thank you for what you have done for me…especially when you were playing.”

That is humility packed in a 7’1 giant if we have ever seen one.

Tom Brady reciprocates the respect to Shaquille O’Neal

Rarely do we see such celebrities shedding their pride and giving flowers to the people who deserve it. Shaq and Brady are among the rare breed of people who don’t hold back when it’s about showing respect to others. Similar to what Shaq did recently, Brady has always shown the utmost respect to the Big Man. The 46-year-old told Shaq “You’ve conquered so many worlds, it’s hard to keep track.”

It’s a treat for us fans to see two of the greatest athletes fan-boying over one another. We can only wish for more such moments.
