Within a few days, Dwyane Wade is set to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. A prestigious honor that has only been bestowed upon 436 players till now, Wade is beyond ecstatic about being given a platform alongside the best of the best in the NBA’s history.
?wade_legacy?, an Instagram handle with over 63600 followers, recently uploaded an image on their story. It featured the Heat star lying on the ground, surrounded by confetti and holding on to his cap. The story had a countdown attached to it that read ?D-WADE HALL OF FAME COUNTDOWN? accompanied by a ?fire? emoji. Furthermore, a caption reads “It?s getting real.”
The story was reshared by Wade on his own Instagram in a story that he has now deleted.
A song by the band ?The Script? titled ?Hall of Fame? was playing in the background. The track, released in 2012, is known for featuring prominent rapper and 7-time Grammy winner Will.i.am as a secondary artist.
Despite taking down the story, it’s clear that Dwyane Wade has his eyes set on the fabled date when he gets his flowers. And he has already chosen a legendary hooper to stand by his side.

Recipients of this honor are given a choice to select the person who will present them during the ceremony. Once the full list was out, fans were surprised to see that Dwyane Wade chose former Philadelphia 76ers player Allen Iverson to lead him into the Hall of Fame.

The ?No. 3?, which the Heat player donned throughout his career, was a tribute to the 11x NBA All-Star as well. In the past, Wade has openly talked about the impact that Iverson has had on him.
While fans were happy for Flash, they were astonished that Wade did not decide to choose his former teammate. Many expected Chris Bosh to be the one to present him.
