The movie featured Gabrielle Union as Rachel, who visited her father’s house on Christmas for the first time after her mother died. But the twist here? Her three siblings, Cheryl (Kimberly Elise), Christian (Romany Malco), and Evan (Jessie Usher) were also visiting with their families and if they could all get along with each other for just five days, it would be a Christmas miracle. The couple decided to hit the California beaches with their youngest, Kaavia. Sounds like a perfect holiday trip, right? Well, not for the little one. She wasn’t exactly feeling the holiday vibes and California just wasn’t cutting it for her.

Kaavia looked anything but entertained, staring at the ground with a face that screamed pure dissatisfaction!

Gabrielle Union even mentioned it in her IG stories and wrote, “@kaaviajames 😂😆😂 She wishes we were in Hawaii 😂😂.” 

But no need to stress because the fun was still in full swing on that California beach. Union, ever the optimist, saw the bigger picture. She was banking on this moment, turning into a core memory for Kaavia someday. In fact, she even joked, “This is definitely gonna be a therapy session in about 20 years.”

In another story where Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union were seen posing happily, Kaavia simply used her pink puffer jacket’s hood to hide her face. “Kaavs face is classic,” wrote the mother. However, Wade was on the same page as he shared their festive time on Instagram. Union reposted Wade’s selfie, complete with Chris Brown’s “This Christmas” playing in the background.

It didn’t stop there. Kaavia spent some quality time with her god-sisters, making the holiday even more special. Union also shared a quick clip of her last-minute Christmas shopping hustle and to top it all off, the couple shared some lovely moments on the beach with a beautiful sunset in the background.

However, the holiday isn’t all just about celebration. Back in 2020, the couple decided that they needed to do their part in helping society. Union teamed up with Amazon (Amazon Smile Charity Lists) in order to help charitable organizations. “I wanted to find a way to give back safely during this pandemic and this program allows people to donate to their favorite charities without even leaving their homes,” she had shared. “This way, people can do their regular holiday shopping, and do something good while they’re at it.”

Since marrying in 2014 and welcoming Kaavia in 2018 through surrogacy, the Wades have embraced life as a united family. After six years of raising Kaavia, Wade and Gabrielle Union have built a family that many dream of.
