The fiercest fire in Southern California has sparked an outpouring of prayers and support from people. Dry winds continue to threaten and terrorize the fire-hit L.A. region. Teary-eyed residents watched their homes burn, their hearts heavy. Nearly 12,000 homes and structures, even more than that in numbers, have been damaged. Many, including celebrities, took to social media to offer comfort to those affected. Dwyane Wade’s wife is among them.
Taking to social media, Union shared a picture of the moon on IG story and wrote, “Thinking of everyone suffering, grieving, exhausted, frustrated, feeling hopeless and helpless… I pray for healing, peace and protection, strength and guidance. And most of all love. We all we got.” It was unexpected. Dwyane Wade was likely just in the middle of shooting the newest episode of his podcast, The Why, when the fire hit.
As seen in the episode, disturbed by the loud noise on the roof of the studio, Wade mentioned that it was the Santa Ana winds. Soon after, the staff informed him that the fire had already reached some areas of L.A.

Dorell Wright, who was present for the show, also added that he saw dark clouds on his way to the studio. This was a scary time for everyone. Wade further noted how living in L.A. comes with a price. “Being here and then experiencing from afar the fires that has taken a lot of homes a lot of lives, has shadow communities. This is the one of the things about living in L.A. and this is one of just like Miami Hurricanes…So man prayers out to everybody families everybody who’s dealing with the fires right now,” Wade said.

He also took to social media to show support. He also alluded to the dangerous Miami hurricanes that had caused damage to people and property in the past. The family initially lived in Miami. The Miami Heat legend played for the franchise for most of his NBA career, so the family stayed in Miami. After Wade’s retirement, the couple moved to L.A. for two very important reasons.

Why did Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union leave Miami?
One of the reasons the couple moved to L.A. is that it would benefit Dwyane Wade’s wife Union’s acting career. However, that is not the only reason. Another factor was Florida’s environment. The Wades felt that the environment in L.A. would be the perfect place for their kids to grow up.
“There are a lot of reasons we decided California was best for our family, and finding a community for [our daughter] Zaya was a big part of that. We felt that California was a place that would allow her to blossom and grow. She’s going to be a Junior in high school now, and she’s been able to be accepted and become her here,” Wade said to People magazine.
