Superstar Lewis Hamilton is currently in his ‘Last Dance’ phase with team Mercedes, as he will soon be switching to Ferrari in 2025. Just like Michael Jordan, Hamilton wanted to give his best and deliver a few titles before he left Mercedes once and for all. The redemption has started and the first step was to secure home court. It had been quite a few years since we saw Hamilton at the top of the table. The 39-year-old is back to a familiar place after winning the British Grand Prix, and the first to celebrate his win was none other than the Wade family.

The racing sensation finished the race in 1:22:27 to beat Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, who’s one of the best in F1 at the moment. Soon after the race ended, Dwyane Wade‘s wife Gabrielle celebrated Hamilton’s victory like her own. The Hollywood star replied to F1’s celebratory post for Hamilton, “Lets goooooooo my friend!!!”, highlighting the special bond she has with the racer.

The pressure was high on Hamilton before this race. The last time he won a race was in December 2021, which was the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. So it was nearly a three-year due. Also, it was his home court. It could have been a bit embarrassing if he had not secured a top spot. He had previously won eight races in the Silverstone Circuit in Britain. Now he has marked his ninth win, which is the most by an F1 driver at a single circuit.

Gabrielle has celebrated Hamilton’s win, but the Miami Heat icon has yet to reflect on it. There is no doubt that Wade will be proud of his F1 buddy. This bond is not newfound. The two have shown love for each other in their best moments.

Hamilton has made a few live attendances to the NBA games. He is a fan of the sport, and especially Dwyane Wade. When the 3x champion was inducted into the Hall of Fame last year, Hamilton was not able to make a live appearance, but he put out a message on Instagram

The F1 champion shared one of Wade’s Hall of Fame videos on his story and added, “Proud of you this great guy. Love bro.” He was also one of the many to celebrate Wade’s retirement from the NBA uniquely. Hamilton shared a picture of Wade and him on a jet ski, where the latter seemed terrified.

“Thought I’d post this pic of us tearing it up on the jet ski, me in my zone and you petrified thinking your career was over on the back…But on the real, What a legacy you have, inspired by your greatness and your humble attitude,” wrote Hamilton on Wade’s retirement. Let’s see if Wade comes up with something like this on Hamilton’s victory.
