Dwyane Wade is all set to have his own bronze statue, but no one knows what it’s gonna look like, or is it? As announced by the Miami Heat earlier this year, The Flash will have his bronze statue unveiled at Kaseya Center West Plaza on October 27 this year. Since then, the speculations and suggestions regarding what the pose for the statue should be have been pouring in, and amid all the uncertainty, D-Wade’s eldest son, Zaire teases his knowledge of the statue.
“I may or may not know..” he commented on an IG post featuring a clip from Gil’s Arena. During the podcast, show co-host Josiah Johnson stated he would want to see Dwyane Wade’s dunk against Anderson Varejao in the statue. The dunk in reference came during the Heat’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers back in 2009. Wade hit a vicious poster against Varejao, sending him smashing into the pole.
However, Arenas had one better in his mind. Going back through multiple moments of D-Wade again, Gil suggested 3x NBA champ’s “this is my house” moment for the statue. A moment that most fans of the 13x All-Star won’t forget. For those who are unaware, this came in season 2009. A game where the Heat was on the verge of losing to Wade’s hometown team Chicago Bulls. But Wade had other plans.

The former point guard came up with a steal during the final seconds of the game and went for a 3-point buzzer-beater to secure a win for his team. Next came the iconic moment where the 3x NBA champ jumped on the table and declared, “this is my house.”

Not even the Heat icon himself would’ve imagined something so spontaneous would become something so iconic. But sure, it wouldn’t be the only one.

What other options are out there for Dwyane Wade
When it comes to The Flash’s upcoming statue, the possibilities are exciting to think about. The 3x NBA champ has left basketball fans with so many memorable moments. It’s tough to choose just one to immortalize in bronze. Could it be his iconic Euro-step, slicing through defenders with finesse? Sure, many players have used the move, but Wade’s name always rises to the top when discussing it.
Then there’s his incredible shot-blocking ability. Not many guards are known for blocks, but Wade made it one of his better skills. In fact, he holds the record for most blocked shots by a player 6’4″ or shorter in the league. While other moves like the pump fake may overshadow it, some know just how impactful those rejections were throughout his career. Speaking of the pump fake, could that be the frontrunner?

It was undoubtedly one of Wade’s most unstoppable weapons. Picture him, ball in hand, making defenders jump as he artfully baited them into fouling—unstoppable! However, the chances for “this is my house” moment are the highest. Especially after Wade himself spoke on the honor of having his own statue at Kaseya Center West Plaza — “It gives me more of an ability to say This is my house.” It seems there is no option for fans but to wait for October 27 to find out the final look. Unless Zaire Wade drops in more hints on the details.
