Good Lord! How did things go downhill so fast? Just yesterday, everything looked picture-perfect. Dwyane Wade had us all glued to Instagram, showing off his beachside fun, enjoying with his daughter, Kaavia Wade, and wife, Gabrielle Union. But now it seems like the Christmas cheer has been replaced by something rather awful, someone in the Wade family is down for the count. The big question is, who’s the unlucky one? But before we get to that…

Let’s familiar you with all of the Wade children. The former Miami Heat player shares two children with his ex-wife Siovaughn Funches—Zaire (22) who’s a basketball player who last played for the Cape Town Tigers of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), and Zaya (17) who’s a teenage fashion influencer, model, and an advocate for LGBTQ+ rights. Recently, she (originally named Zion) was presented with the Groundbreaker Award at the Out100 Gala for her “her fearless advocacy for queer rights since coming out as transgender in 2020”.

Apart from that, the Hall of Famer has legal custody of his nephew Dahveon (21), and shares one 11-year-old Xavier with Basketball Wives star, Aja Metoyer, while he and current wife Gabrielle Union were briefly separated. And then there’s Kaavia Wade (Union and Wade’s only child), the six-year-old rockstar who’s the current star of the family…

Little Kaavia’s exploits are known far and wide…From openly criticizing her parents for singing “The Twelve Days of Christmas” the incorrect way, to stealing the show with her performances, the six-year-old has got everyone wrapped around her fingers and running around to please her. This time, though, all the running and jumping is for a different reason…

In Wade’s latest post, he dropped a pic of a shopping list that had “Froot Loops,” “Apple Jacks,” “Cinnamon Toast Crunch,” and… “Vicks Vapor Rub”? Yeah, that last one raised some serious eyebrows. Fans couldn’t help but wonder, what’s a vapor rub doing on a snack list? The confusion remained for a bit, but Wade’s next post cleared it all up.

In the very next post, Wade, who clearly was on daddy duty, shared a picture of a shopping mall where he was in the food store with a cart full of snacks. But it wasn’t the picture that cleared the confusion, it was the caption. He wrote, “A sick baby and snacks.” That’s all it took for fans to connect the dots, someone in the family was under the weather. But the big question remained, who was it?

While there’s still no concrete information, the caption hints that Wade might be talking about little Kaavia. Even if that’s true, it doesn’t seem like anything too serious. After all, as long as Wade has her back, nothing could possibly go wrong… right?

Thankfully, their holiday plans in North Fork won’t be spoiled!

How Wade and his family ended up in the North Fork

Earlier this year, Dwyane and his wife Gabrielle purchased a beach house in Jamesport, a quaint town on Long Island’s North Fork. According to the sources, it set them back $2.6 million. Since then, the LA-based couple has frequently been spotted relaxing there with their 6-year-old daughter, Kaavia. It’s their comfort spot for some much-needed downtime and relaxation.

From Wade’s Instagram posts, it’s clear the family headed to North Fork for their Christmas holiday. And by all accounts, they were having an amazing time as seen in their posts. Unfortunately, it’s peak flu season there, with the highest rates of flu hitting between December and January. So, this could just be a seasonal flu.

Personally, I don’t see any reason to panic. If our Shady Baby has caught the seasonal flu, she will bounce back just fine. After all, she has got Dwyane’s genes, she knows how to fight through it and get back in the game faster than you can blink.

In his last post, Dwyane Wade shared a picture of the road leading to their house, beautifully adorned with lights and fairy lights shaped like a Christmas tree. This post reassures fans that there’s no serious concern to worry about. Just like on the court, Wade has everything under control.
