Dwyane Wade isn’t missing out on any move Bronny James is making. The path has been anything but flowery for LeBron James’ eldest, but trust the Miami Heat icon to guide him. From enthusiastically cheering on day 1 to calling out the LA Lakers, Wade has been relentless in pushing for Bronny’s growth– even if it means the 20-year-old had to live some of the toughest 15 minutes of his career.

On the latest episode of his podcast, Wade discussed how Bronny has been witnessing an improvement since he first joined the league. After averaging 8.8 points and 3.5 points in the summer league, he has soared to 21.3 points alongside 5.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists during four games in the G league. He also managed to land a 31-point performance on his return. The Flash attributes it all to experience. So when JJ Redick put him on court last week against the Philadelphia 76ers, Wade only believed that to be a step ahead, no matter the tough spot.

Love JJ Redick. I think he’s going to be a great coach. (He) put him (Bronny) in a very tough situation in Philly. That’s okay because you have to take what you learning and you gotta go apply it,” Wade says.

Bronny played 15 minutes last Tuesday night and finished zero points on 0-for-5 from the field, 3 rebounds, an assist, and a block. It was his first extensive minutes in the league and on a nationally televised game. LeBron too believes he is going to get more and more comfortable with time, just as he has proven with the G League. But he has got to keep going, Wade suggests.

The only way he’s going to be able to become the NBA player that he wants to be one day, is he have to go out there and he has to try it out and then you go back to the G league and you continue to keep working on your game. You come back up, you see if some of it has translated to the NBA game. These are all different speeds in all different games,” the 3x champion notes.

While the head coach explained that his decision was influenced by the need to put the rookie’s energy to good use, he later admitted that it was tough for Bronny. But even if the pace is slow, Bronny is working hard to keep up.

While playing against the Washington Wizards, the 20-year-old got his chance to shine in the fourth quarter despite limited playing time. His display thrilled the fans, including the opposing team’s supporters, who showed their appreciation with a standing ovation.

Regardless of Bronny’s improvement, his name is on everyone’s lips. Everyone is talking about young James. Wade also highlighted the fact that the media is focusing on James rather than other elite players who are failing to meet expectations. And that, as he mentioned, speaks volume.

This kid is good for business. Every show has a segment about Bronny James, the 55th pick in the draftYou all don’t cover guys who are in the NBA making way more bread than him, whose potential was supposed to be higher than him, who are not having careers in the NBA they should have,” Wade said of the Los Angeles Lakers rookie.

Bronny is clearly taking it up a notch. After his 31-point performance, he also managed his first 3-pointer in the game against Clippers. The 20-year-old is setteling in and perhaps, when given the chance, young James might live up to the potential.
