While Miami Heat fans gear up for Dwyane Wade’s upcoming statue unveiling, before that grand moment, Wade stole hearts. On Sunday, D-Wade will officially cement his legacy with a bronze statue in Miami, a celebration of his iconic career. At the 3x NBA champ’s pre-celebration party “Statues Are Forever” in Miami’s Overtown, he shared a sweet moment with his daughter, Kaavia. The father-daughter duo took center stage, creating a buzz that had everyone talking, and for good reason.
As the festival came to a close, Wade shared a video of the two dancing together on his IG story, and the crowd couldn’t get enough. Both Wade and Kaavia were dressed in stunning white outfits—Wade looking sharp in a white suit and Kaavia rocking an adorable white princess dress.
Interestingly, at his party, D-Wade performed a special dance. The event was also star-studded as his long-time friend and another Miami Heat legend, Udonis Haslem, attended alongside DJ Khaleed. In a story shared by Wade, the three of them can be seen jamming together on a rap song. Also, his Emmy-winning, Oscar and Tony-nominated production house’s EVP Jon Marcus was present along with trainer David Alexander and famous digital creator Michael Guerrero.

Nevertheless, it was the father-daughter duo that stole the show. Their smiles lit up the room, with little Kaavia seemingly having moved on from the prank her dad and brother pulled on her just days before.
Just a few days ago, the Wade family attended the Green Bay Packers vs Los Angeles Rams game, where Kaavia’s brother Zaire caught her in a TikTok prank that has been trending lately. And the prank unfolded in front of a full room with D-Wade behind the camera. As for the aftermath? The same video later showed Kaavia hugging her dad while hiding her face. The video had fans in stitches, though we’re all still waiting to see if Kaavia has her own sweet revenge planned for the future.
On the other hand, as Wade prepares for his statue unveiling on Sunday, it’s not the only honor he got this week.

After 15 seasons with the Miami Heat, Dwyane Wade has firmly established himself as their greatest player of all time. The celebrations for his legendary career keep rolling in. Just days before the unveiling of his bronze statue at Kaseya Center, Wade received another huge honor. Miami Heat fans were thrilled when the team announced that a portion of Northeast 7th Street would be renamed “Dwyane Wade Boulevard,” a decision unanimously approved by Miami-Dade’s Board of County Commissioners three years ago.
“We know you’ve been waiting for this outside of Kaseya Center 🤩,” read the Miami Heat’s official Instagram post, announcing the news.

Wade’s wife, Gabrielle Union, couldn’t contain her pride. She reposted the Heat’s announcement on her Instagram stories, adding a heartfelt message to celebrate her husband’s latest achievement. “Surreal. And so damn proud of @dwyanewade, and it’s only just the beginning,” she wrote, making it clear how much this honor meant to their family.
In addition to the street naming, Wade and his former teammate Bam Adebayo recently revealed a newly designed basketball court. This court, a collaborative project between Wade’s World Foundation and Adebayo’s BBB Foundation, is a gift to the Miami community—another way Wade continues to give back to the city he loves.
