Women uplifting women is quite wholesome and Dwyane Wade’s 6-year-old knows this young. If you have been following Kaavia Wade on social media, you’d know about the Woman Crush Wednesday on her Instagram account in which she features women she admires and gives them their flowers through heartfelt messages. The most recent recipient to be showered with this love from the 6-year-old is none other than USC Trojans’ 19-year-old sensation Juju Watkins.
“Big energy, big dreams, and even bigger moves—JuJu Watkins (@jujubballin) is that girl!… At just 19 years old, JuJu is rewriting the playbook for excellence in women’s basketball,” Kaavia wrote in her heartfelt Instagram tribute. If you’ve been following college basketball, you probably already know why Watkins is such a big deal.
But Dwyane Wade’s youngest kid ensured to remind everyone of her jaw-dropping accomplishments. This included Watkins becoming the fastest player in USC history to hit 1,000 career points. Yep, she did it in just 38 games. It was her freshman season itself that indicated the rise of a new star. She averaged 27.1 points per game while leading the Trojans to their first Elite Eight appearance since 1994.

“But her impact isn’t limited to the court. Off it, JuJu is making power moves as the youngest investor in Unrivaled, a groundbreaking 3-on-3 women’s basketball league backed by a star-studded roster of supporters,” Kaavia pointed out, highlighting Watkins’ influence beyond basketball.

For those unaware, the Unrivaled League, co-founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier, raised $35 million in a investment recent round. And yes, alongside big established names like Giannis Antetokounmpo and Michael Phelps, Watkins played a crucial role in this milestone for the 3-on-3 league.
No wonder that Dwyane Wade’s 6-year-old daughter, even at a young age, knows that Watkins is an “extraordinary” star. “Keep breaking barriers and setting the standard, JuJu,” Kaavia concluded her IG post.

“I had that kind of attention for a year and a half. She’s going to have it for three years”. Caitlin Clark’s statement in a conversation with Lindsay Gottlieb reflects one of the primary reasons that’ll lead to Watkins’ growth as a basketball icon.
However, it’s only because of the kind of the player Watkins is that she attracts such attention to herself. This has already made her a successful athlete off-the-court at a young age. Something that Dwyane Wade’s daughter Kaavia also highlighted in her IG post.
Take Watkins’ NIL deals, for example. The USC star has partnerships with Gatorade and Nike. And the latter offered her one of the richest shoe deals in women’s basketball! Apart from this, she has rubbed shoulders with MLB superstar Shohei Ohtani, presented Travis Scott with her jersey, and appeared in commercials alongside NBA star Joel Embiid rocking her signature bun. And it doesn’t stop there.

Watkins is set to co-produce and star in her own NBC/Peacock docuseries. That’s the kind of off-court engagement even some established pro league athletes crave. No wonder the NBA icon LeBron James himself, in an interview with ESPN, said, “She’s already a star.”
And now more recently, it has been Dwyane Wade’s 6-year-old acknowledging the same in her own way.
