Thanksgiving is not just a day of gratitude for many NBA stars. But also a chance to hit pause on their busy schedules and spend quality time with loved ones and those who they are grateful to have in their lives. Take LeBron James, who often shares glimpses of his family’s lavish spread, or Steph Curry, whose festive table is a delightful mix of tradition and modern flair. This year, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union have taken center stage with their meticulously planned Thanksgiving celebration.

In an Instagram video that has surfaced, Wade shared a voice note expressing his love for Thanksgiving, calling it his favorite day of the year. “What’s my favorite Thanksgiving dish or tradition? Actually my favorite day of the year, actually. And that’s because It’s put on a schedule on the calendar for us to actually sit down and be thankful. That’s how crazy our lives are.

When it comes to Thanksgiving fare, Wade and Union have a well-defined palette that combines traditional flavors with a touch of their personal favorites. Last year, the personal chef of the couple, Chef Ingraham revealed their favorite delicacies of the holiday. The most loved by the Wade family are the Herb Roasted Standing Pork Roast and the Apple and Sweet Potato Cobbler with Bacon Caramel.

Moreover, Thanksgiving at the Wade-Union household isn’t just about the food—it’s about creating cherished memories. Their LA home becomes a hub of warmth and joy as family and close friends gather around. Last year the same energy was visible during a Thanksgiving party, where the youngest of the Wade universe, Kaavia, stole the show by reciting a Thanksgiving prayer in a green dress and red lipstick.

For Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, Thanksgiving is more than just a holiday—it’s a day to honor family, tradition, and the joy of togetherness. Their meticulous planning and heartfelt approach serve as a reminder of what the day truly represents. However, there was a time when Wade and Union celebrated Thanksgiving at a different NBA star’s house.

We know that Carmelo Anthony and Dwyane Wade have a history that goes beyond the basketball court. Both were members of the NBA’s legendary 2003 draft class that formed a lasting bond while on Team USA. However, once they showed that, despite the rivalries, they had immense respect for each other by spending Thanksgiving together.

On Instagram, it was revealed that Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union spent 2016’s Thanksgiving night with Melo and his wife (now ex-wife) La La Anthony. Moreover, Wade was happy with the meeting since he got to eat homemade food.

“I was happy to get a home-cooked meal. It was cool. Last year [the Heat] were in New York, so I was able to have Thanksgiving with the Anthonys, me and my wife, and this year because we were so close we were able to go up there again,” said Wade.
