The man of the hour. The heart of Vice City. Dwyane Wade might not officially call Miami home, but he’s made the city Wade Country. Throughout his tenure with the Miami Heat team, Wade became a fan favorite. While his on-court talents were spectacular, he would connect with the fanbase on a personal level as well. That is why there was no player more deserving of the first statue in the franchise’s history. But feelings for the best player in the organization’s history aren’t all sunshine and daisies.

During an appearance on the Kelly Clarkson show, the 3x NBA Champion would reveal his true feelings about the entire situation. “Yeah, of course, I’m excited and all those things. But it’s kind of weird too…What’s a statue?”

To him, that kind of honor is reserved for those who have had their lives and passed on. “I’m alive, you know what I mean? I am not dead yet, no like, normally, when you think monuments…I’m 42 and I’m like, ‘Wow, I’m getting a statue’…I feel like I should be older in my life.” 

However, it’s not just age that was a concern to the one-time Chicago Bull. Instead, he worries about how the nightlife around the statue is going to look like. Not just of the viewing public, either.

The Flash has grand plans to exploit his name and statue for future content.

Dwyane Wade and his plans for his statue

After confessing that he knew about the statue’s announcement before it became public in the beautiful and heart-touching ceremony, Wade revealed that he had some questions about the situation as well. Firstly, he was wondering what the nighttime around the statue would look like.

But, rather than worry about onlookers or fans, DWade has plans of his own. With “music blasting” and filming his “tiktoks next to my statue” in-store, the next few months of content from the Hall of Famer could be epic.

In his foray into the entertainment world, he has already shown how …err, entertaining he can be. With a renewed focus and a legendary backdrop, the stage is set for Dwyane Wade to rise and shine.
