Dwyane Wade loves to pay tribute to his dad. “We had the same exact dream, and we carried the same exact name,” Dwyane Wade said as he invited his dad up on the stage to join him at the Hall of Fame ceremony in 2023. ‘The Flash’ once again honored his dad with a heartwarming message on Father’s Day. 

The official Instagram page of Wade’s wine brand shared a picture of Wade smiling as he posed alongside his dad, Dwyane Wade Sr. The picture was taken at one of the events held for the Wade Cellars as a glass of wine can be seen in Wade’s hands. The post is captioned, “Let’s hear it for the dads! 🥂 Happy Father’s Day!⁠”

The two dads have been remarkable in raising their kids. The 3x champion has always praised his father and stated how he influenced his life. Wade who is now a father to five mentioned that his dad maintained a family of six earning just $73 a week. “We grew up poor. It was stepmom, three stepbrothers sister and me,” Wade said during an episode of The Wine Down podcast where he had his father as the guest.

Dwyane Wade’s heart-touching Hall of Fame speech is special to his dad

Just days after the podcast, Wade shared a post on his Instagram that highlighted his father’s response to his speech. Wade Sr. stated that his son’s speech was not just dedicated to him but to all the fathers out there who make numerous silent sacrifices to support their kids and help them achieve their dreams.

“I felt like that speech opened the doors for all the fathers of America. We all heard that speech and we all cried to that speech and it made difference in us being the dads all across the globe,” Wade Sr. said on the podcast. Both agreed that a father’s contribution to kids’ lives often goes unnoticed. This speech was to shine a spotlight on all the fathers. 

Not just Wade’s words but his actions also show support and appreciation for the fathers. The Miami Heat legend produced a short film, ‘The Dads’ directed by Luchina Fisher that won a Daytime Emmy. Kudos to Wade’s consistent efforts to make a change for the fathers.
