Art is perfection on its own, but the same thing cannot be said for every statue. Dwyane Wade has ensured that every detail of his memoir was carefully considered. He might have overdone it a bit, possibly even annoying everyone at the studio. But after Allen Iverson’s statue was criticized for its bizarrely short height, it’s only right that Wade does not repeat any of those happenings. In his excitement, he may have even overlooked a few details.
When asked about the statue, an elated Wade revealed that he visited the studio four times. Paying close attention to every aspect, Wade even let slip one detail. His bronze statue will likely feature a pose from one of his games.
As he mentioned being captured mid-air, it’s likely the statue will depict him shooting a ball or in a similar action. During his interview with ‘Today’, he hinted that it will likely be “high.” The 3x NBA champ said that he scrutinized the statue’s face, even suggesting changes to the sculptors. At one point, he remarked on how an eyebrow appeared lifted. “My statue was getting made. I was looking at my statue face. One time I was like, excuse me, the eyebrow is raising high,” Wade said with a proud face.

Well, that’s classic Wade. This statue is a first for both the NBA legend and the franchise. It will be installed at the Kaseya Center. His statue will be looked up to by kids and aspiring athletes for inspiration. And there’s a reason for this that traces all the way back to his childhood in Chicago.
It’s a huge honor for ‘The Flash’, who has dreamt of this moment since a very young age. He recalled how mesmerized he was when he first saw Michael Jordan‘s statue during a field trip.
Dwyane Wade wants to influence the next generation like Michael Jordan did
“This is a forever thing. I grew up in Chicago. The first statue that I ever seen was Michael Jordan. Yes. It was a field trip for us to go down to Chicago, take a photo in front of that statue. A field trip for us to go down to Chicago. So I understand what this means,” Wade noted about the Chicago Bulls legend’s statue.
Wade is determined to make the same impact with his statue. And for that, perfection is key, anything less simply won’t do. His statue will also be sculpted by the same artists, Omri Amrany and Oscar León of Rotblatt Amrany Studio, who created MJ’s statue in Chicago.
It seems like it’s time to revisit the Miami Heat legend’s photo memoir. It features all the iconic images of the legend captured by Bob Metelus. However, which image will be immortalized in the statue remains to be seen.
